tsi kit/fully built d17 q?
hey guys whats up ive decided to go with the tsi kit for my d17.i would like to run low-mid 12's on the track in the far future. i got 2 questions. 1. can a d17 withstand that much hp/trq to run those times even with rebuilding it(better piston, rods, sleeves, etc.) 2.im prolly going with the t25bb,would this turbo be sufficient or would i have to upgrade to the t28bb or even higher. thanx for the info

if your shooting for those kind of numbers id guess min of a GT28RS disco or bigger! Most likely would neeed to be custom kit all together. As i recall the GT28RS is capable of low 300's HP
I think only Catalyst break the 12's sec. mark on a d17.

does it really need to be custom.can the gt28rs just replace the turbo that comes with the tsi kit. remember that this is for the far future not right now

To the original poster: The AFC will advance timing which limits the amount of boost you can run. With the emanage you can retard ignition timing so that you can run MORE boost.

Yeah the TSI kit is not something you want to get into for 11 second passes. The kit uses a small turbo, a small manifold, and a limiting fuel system.
Go with at least the GT28RS or a T3 Super 60, T3/T04 E/B. Then use an equal lenght manifold, or at least one with a high effiency and air flow. Replace the stock injectors with at least 450cc+. Convert to a return line (best to tune). Use an Emanage so you can pull back ignition timing and tune the fuel curves.
Replace the axles. Add an LSD, a very strong clutch, and pray your tranny and synchros hold up.
I don't see how the D17 could run 11s without being built, regardless of the amount of money spent on anything else.
Hopefully I read the q's right, im tired and lazy right now haha...
