Need your help ASAP Please! Car wont move!!!
Well for starters I blew my A2 in my 01 civic a couple of weeks ago, So I got on ebay and ordered another motor which was supposed to be from a 01 civic, but he forgot to mention that it was A JDM spec motor which was stamped on block JDM "d15b" not D17?? WTF?? But everything else was the same it has all the same wholes parts ect... Meaning everything was interchangeable between the two engines. SO dont say its a older model because its not I know everthing about the Previous engines but lost on this new JDM motor they sent us because I havnt heard of it..
Well we got it started last night after we dropped it in, and it idles really irratic first of all and sometimes just drops off and dies.
Second I Hooked up Timing light and it blinks hardly @ higher rpms and normal @ low rpms? Weird?
3rd. The Damn Tach and SPeedo just ****ing bounce everywhere like they own the ****, and the CEL will sit there and flash and make a clicking sound when doing so and also when it flashes it makes the engine bog down right away.
4th .. Once we got it on ground it was still running which it sounds fine other than idle going up and down! But once you put it in gear and try to drive, or put any load on engine is just bogs down hella quick, and or dies ??
Now I am really frustrated at this point because these ****ing new OBD cars are hard to crack ..
But here is my thoery right now.. Ok I am figuring by it bogging and dying down like it is it is either not getting suffiecent fuel or SPark?? I know it is getting plenty of air though.
My other assumption is being it says d15b on block that would make it 1.5 l also making the Crank sensor by crank pulley maybe throwing the engine off because I am running USDM ECU and is still thinking the numbers of d17..
OK enough of me, just tell me anything you guys might thing it is , or heard of.. Any help would be appreciative.!!! Thanks, Kyle

lol yeah u got a 1.5 l engine now. i would get a D17 man....i'm not sure if u got the 3 stage vtec D15 but its probably not. i would find yurself that D17A2, then u probably wouldnt have a bunch of problems. if u dotn want to, i would suggest gettin the ECU for this engine.

Yep I have the ECU and complete wiring harness for new engine and it wont run off that ****? It runs off of the USDM Shizzle?? And nope not a 3 stage its only got 1 solenoid... I just am confused because I havnt seen any of the new engines from Japan floating around anywhere w/ d15b on it and have the same casting wholes bolts ect.. as the USDM d17 ...
