What would you do for Turbo/Swap?
To those that are still dreaming of their Turbo/Swap..What would you do to get it? Would you work non stop day and night saving as much doe as you could and then drop it all into your car? Would you collect cans and invest in recycling..Maybe even eat 10,000 donuts in one sitting and become a legend and get a million dollars?

Here's what i did: The main thing is to stay motivated! I opened another savings account (they're free people!) on the side. I made a lil' box at home with pics of the kit on it and "TSI Turbo Fund" on it. I kept all my deposit slips in it. I worked and worked non-stop! Worked as many hours as i could and stole as many hours as i could. I bummed as much money from my rents as i could. And just day after day kept thinking about it, and planning. I did all that for 3 months and then ran across a member selling the kit. BAM! Boosted.

I don't own a civic, but own a White Scion TC. I have car payments, insurance payments, gas, cellphone payments and internet payments that add up to about $700 a month and i only made about $750 working 25 hours a week and attending college taking 18 creds a semester. I wanted to turbo my TC. I took off one semester of school and worked about 67 hours a week for 5 weeks at my POS hardware salesman job where I was worked like a mule. After working all those hours I started getting serious pain in my feet and saw an orthopedic. I was told I needed surgery to correct the pain. I wanted my turbo bad, so I ignored him. I kept working for 9 more weeks suffering every single minute I was on the clock and even off the clock. I made about $660 a week so multiply it by 14 weeks, I made about $9,240 during that period of time. I dropped $4,000 for the turbo, $700 for a new clutch, $500 for a turbo exhaust, and $450 for a new flywheel. Thats about $5600. I finally had my turbo, but now the pain in my feet was so bad I couldn't even drive. I had to have the surgery. Since the surgery is considered elective, the Insurance company will not cover it and I will have to pay about $8000+ to fix my feet. I feel really happy that I reached my goal so quickly, but now Im stuck in a really bad situation and im forced to work even more hours to be operated on. I just want you guys to think before you let a car become your life like is the case in most people. If you plan on making a big investment in your car, be patient. Work maybe 2-3 hours extra a week and save up slowly. Don't kill yourself like I did, because you will definitely have regrets. With that being said wish me luck on my surgery and stay motivated, but not obsessed.
