Some seem like thay would restrict some air flow into the filter, but some are good.
I don't know who makes just the heat shield though. If you find out, let us know.

I think injen makes heat shields. They look really nice too. Its polished stainless and just wraps around the filter of your aftermarket intake. I think it comes in sizes depending on the application.

I dont think it works. not really anyway.

well, at least, not InJen's one...

the thing u want to block out is the hot engine bay air... not the hot engine... which is the cause...

since the heatshield doesn't enclose the air filter completely and keep it seperate from the engine bay air, you're still sucking in those hot engine bay.

nor do I think the ractive filter with heatshield works... I mean you're still sucking in hot engine bay air with that thing too.

well, what I suggest falls in the line of short ram intake systems anyway... course u wouldn't really be using that thing with a CAI... I guess u can use it as a splashguard?

I dont think restricting air flow is a problem... the issue is, does it do anything at all? IMO, none. or, barely anything.

I'm curious if the heat shield works too. I was gonna get an injen ca and a bypass valve and came accross the heat shield.

i just think it's for show, at least the injen one
i've seen some custom made one where it blocks off
a whole corner of the engine bay area. now i believe those work
but as far as these new one i just think their another way to make money
and if your putting it on a CAI what's the point?
isn't the CAI relocating the filter away from the hot engine bay?
so now, if anything, wouldn't it be blocking the cold air
