They are supposedly revealing this on 1/7/02. Anyone know what it's going to look like? As of now, Corolla's been ugly, but just WHAT IF it looks better than a civic this time.

dude. i tell you. that car is not that nice. we have one here and at first it looked so good. but if you have the change to see it everyday, it does not really looks nice. and its really hard to put mods!! so little parts available!!

HELL YEH....... the corolla altis is off da HOOK !!!!! dat jonx looks like a mini lexus es300 especially the tailights except da lexus got the altezza shet. im loving dat new corolla, if we get either one of them (hoping more on altis) well i need to start convincing my mom then to trade off our old 97 corolla, by the time its out, its gonna be perfect.

well on da corolla dat sold in japan, is it just me or does da corolla looks:
1. bigger than da civic, interior/exterior
2. got rid of da back hump (like civic, flat rear floor)
3. looks like a car version dodge caravan, look at da headlight
4. looks round and bubbly

however i know many people in here would hate the corolla cuz we know wut this site is all about..... CIVIC.
and as far as i know, there's no better company rivalries out there than HONDA/TOYOTA, ima say the truth, the only company that can compete wid HONDA quality is TOYOTA, don't get me wrong i love my CIVIC.

stop the hating/bullshetting, to tell u da truth, admit it, we got some competition coming fokkers !

hahaha im not hating the car! i juts think that the civic is still better! the interior of the civic is bigger compared to the altis. hard to believe right? but it is really bigger! and at least the civic got rid of the hump at the back seat! well at least i have a civic and we have an altis here! but for power i would go for the altis! i think it is more powerful compared to our cars when you dont do any mods on it. well thats juts my opinion! haha

I was in Taiwan a few days ago and the Toyota Corolla Atlist was already on the market... it looks like a mini new Camry... it looks okay. I duno how well it performes, but yeah.

The new corolla is going to be sweet. It will have more horsepower this year, and yes, it will look like a baby camry/es300. ES300 and Camry are the SAME car. One just has an L on the front. Now, the Corolla Matrix, which we will have soon is going to straight own. There will be versions carrying up to 180hp or so. I've allready seen all the new toyota's cause I work for Toyota!! Trust me, they will be big competition for the Civic. /me still loves my civic anyway.

I think it will be good for the Civic to have some real compition in the market. Right now you have no other 'good' option if you want a low-cost, reliable, basic car. Sure the American auto makers/Koreans make some...but would you really buy one if you needed it to last more then 60000 miles? If the civic has actual competition, they will probably lower the price and possibly add cooler features to entice the buyer over the Corolla.

I think Toyota is smart redesigning the Corolla, as it could represent a nice piece of the <25 market. It benefits all invovlved since I like to have choices when buying a car and I really didn't when I bought the Civic (not that that is a bad thing )

Anybody check out the suspension on the new Corolla? Instead of struts, it's going to be a fixed beam for the rear like in the Sentra.

This may not be a bad thing because I'm a hater of the stupid rear double-wishbone on our cars. People don't know what they'e talking about when they complain about the front struts... HELLO? rear bounce?

OK, that's enough complaining for the rest of this year...

the suspension of the corolla is sweet man. ive driven ours and the road here in the philippines really sucks but the suspension performed well. i can say that the suspension is better compared to our civics. maybe its because the body of the corolla is bigger? thus making it heavier? hahaha

COROLLAS are good cars........ i love dem cuz she's also my baby....... WELL face the truth yall, it looks good to fight against da civic. i think it got some ***** to da competition......
HOWEVER is it just me or, the LANCER is da only competition as of now out there compared to our civics..... since it came out.... im always intrigued to park beside one, therefore the driver of the lancer would see mah civic as well. i think sentra/protege/focus/neon/corolla are PLAYED OUT.....

Dang da new corolla looks pretty sweet, but they never really been a car for aftermarket parts and body kits, but this corolla could change that.

I heard that the new corollas now come stock with a Vvti engine which is Toyotas version of Vtec

i dunno guys this new corolla could be some competition to us civic driviers
