lotus elise vs celica....
lotus elise vs celica....
I ran into one this morning and I just couldnt resist.
we ran twice.
from a stop - off the line he put at least 3 cars on me and I pulled 2 back by 100 when he shut it down.
then he slowed down and we went from a 40 mph roll. I put about 3 cars on him by 130 when I shut it down.
he was pretty suprised.
was the first time I've run into one on the street that was willing to race. only other one I ran into was at the last auto X event and he beat me by 10 seconds lol

we finished the itb's but they were impractical because the ecu could not hanbdle the adjustments we needed. eventually when a proper ecu is out that can handle speed density we'll do that again.
cars running fine. won 3rd place at the last auto x event so my drivings getting better too lol
right now I'm workin on some custom cams and stuff for a small company so they have been stealing most of my time.

Sweet runs. I'd like to see the look on his face when his 40k car got walked by a car that costs half as much.
They are bad *** though. Trying to make my own poor mans Elise. 200lbs more to take off, a little more power, shorter gears and rwd conversion
Ok I got a long way to go.

low 13's with a good driver?
i thought the new lotus was in the 12's easily???
I know the previous lotus imported and sold for the US with the integra type R engine could run a 12.3 with it's 195hp, due to the fact that it was so light weight. did the new lotus get fat or something?

new elise weighs 1975lbs, old elise???? Sport Compact Mag tested one and ran 13.3 in the 1/4. Dynoed at 166whp. So maybe a high 12 is possible and low 12 would be a little harder to believe.
it was at california speedway on the 19th.
they run low 13's - high 12's depending on driver. and thats stock.
they weigh 1950 lbs, have the same 2zz but different tuning and ecu.
"lift" kicks on at 6,000 rpms compared to a stock celica which sits at 6200 rpms.
they low throttle limiter of 8,000 rpms and a full throttle limiter at 8600 compared to a celicas 8350 rev limiter.
so basically he's reving as high as I am. only difference is I have about a peak 25 hp advantage and 20 wtq advantage

right now I weigh 2450 lbs with out me in it. I have only an intake and new ecu. for exhaust I remove the stock muffler.
my new custom exhaust should be done in a week. really lookin forward to seeing how well it dynos. we gained a lot of power from the prototype.

Cool thats your weight inclding all the fluids and all? Or is that the weight your calculating using the factory curb weight minus the weight reduction you've done?

how much power you are puttin to the wheels, ever dyno? Your about the same weight as me with driver(curb weight minus estimated weight reduction). Just trying to get an idea of much hp I'm gonna need to run near your times.
I actually take my car to a weigh station by my house whenever I change something. I'm back to full interior cause it's a lil better for auto X. my car has a severe oversteer so I keep the wieght on for the balance when I'm not drag racing.
race weight is about 2250 lbs
and I have 172 whp right now.

soon as I get my 1/4 times where I want then i'll start workin on a better setup for autox.
