Ex manifold on dx
Ok so this time i acutally serched before im posting lol
I still havent found the anwser to a ex exhaust manifold fitting on a dx.....a few ppl say yes and others say no. I know the 02 bungs are in diff spots but will the manifold bolt on cause i just need it to fit and i figure out a new spot for the 02 bung cause i can weld. Thanks for the info in advanced.

why don't you get a kamikaze header and not even worry about all that, but if you still want the ex header it fits but you will need a:
ex header
ex hi-flow cat
ex front sway bar
o2 simulator
if i missed anything someone correct me

does the EX header and cat combination fit LX/DX motor without modification? besides the O2 sensors. If this is true, im getting an exhaust.

You need to do a minor modification since the ex down pipe curves up at a 90 degree angle to the header.....the dx only goes to like a 45 degree. You need to make a little pice that connects the 2 that is about 4 inch long, i will be making a diy for it when i recieve my ex manifold sometime next week so be on look out for it.
Once i get it on ill let you know if its worth it or not....im guessing its going to free up alot of flow since its basically going to be a 4-1 header because the ex is tubular and the runners alot better then the stock dx. I mainly bought the ex manifold for when I do a ex mini me head swap.

i think you misunderstood the question.
OEM EX exhaust consists of 4 major components: header, cat, midpipe, and muffler
the LX/DX is 3 major components: cat/header, resonator/midpipe, and muffler.
essentially, you can buy an EX exhaust and mate it up to the OEM EX header and cat without having to modify anything besides extended the O2 sensors.
or keep your factory header and get the tanabe adaption kit. which imitates the OEM EX catalyst section but has the flange angled to mate up with the DX/LX header.

Yea i did misunderstand....anyways im basically making my own adapter to make the ex manifold work on the dx for a fairly cheap price. So far the header has cost me 38 from scatman (its even coated silver w00t!) and i doubt the rest will cost over 20 bucks because im making the flanges out of scap metal i have and i got a welder...all i need to do is go to like advanced and buy a small piece of exhaust piping.

I will find out in a few days lol. It better, im sure it will because d series motors are all basically the same, as for it clearing, it should since the dx manifold is mamoth with that built in cat, the ex is much smaller and less bulky. But in just a few days i will be able to anwser more questions.
ex headers will fit and has been done numerous times before.... no doubt will fit with no mods... as stated in this post a full ex headers and all the piping will bolt up perfectly with no mods to dx cars cause its literally identical to the ex.. almost.. i know this cause i have the same setup.. i have a dx with ex after market headers and catback with a testpipe
