OEM Spoiler: Broken screw

I installed an OEM spoiler and one of the screws broke while I was driving. The bolt was tightend to 5 ft*lbs like the instructions specified. Does anyone know if these screws are replacable/repairable? or am I basically stuck with just 3 bolts holding the spoiler on.

Ya you will probley have to take off the spoiler and get a screw extractor. they work really well and you can find them just about any where like home depo, ace hardware ect.... Than just follow the directions on the extractor (really simple but will need a drill) and then take one of the bolts to ace hardware, home depo, honda, ect and get the same length. then have at it. hope this is what you were talking about.

2k2silvcivic, have you actually attempted removing the bolt with a screw extractor or are you just speculating that it will work? I don't want to go through the trouble of removing the spoiler and buying a screw extractor unless it will actually work. Is there anyone else who had this problem?

I used to have a 69 chevy pickup and i was putting on the new door handles. So i use the sh*ty grade 2 bolts that came w/ the new set and sure enough when i was installing i broke off a bolt. I took off the door handel and the broken threaded part was flush w/ the handel so i bought a screw extactor. It worked for me. It will look like a spiral piece of metal and some times comes w/ the drill bit needed. You start by drilling a hole and then hamer the spiral piece of metal in the hole you drilled. the way the sprial is going you shold now be able to turn it left and the spiral treads should catch the hole you drilled in the bolt and remove it, or remove it enough to where yoyu can get some vice grips on it. Yuo might also be able to use a left handed drill bit. there kind of expecive and i never used one, but there basically a drill bit w/ reverse "threads". Its all kind of confusing to try and word. If you need further help let me know i might still have the extractor so i might be able to take pics of it, or i might be able to take pics of useing it.

If it is an original Honda spoiler and it's less than 1 year since you purchased it, it is under warranty. You have to call to make a service appointment. Yes the warranty applies even if you installed it yourself.

Ouch, If I would have bought the spolier and had it installed by a local Honda dealer it would have cost $600.00 or more. Paid $375.00 shipped and intalled it myself. F them!

I had that happen to my spoiler. All u have to do is go to the parts department at Honda and order the new bolts. If u r lucky, they will even put them on for u.
