my car is overheating, need help!!!
hey guys and gals, i have a troubling problem....after my front end collision I replaced the radiator and fans, everything seems to have been working fine for the first 2 months. Now just recently the car has been overheating and i noticed the radiator fan no longer activates. what should i do? I have no warranty and insurance does not cover. what is a good way to fix on a budget. both of the radiator and fan assembly is brand spankin new, so i don't think that's the problem. I also already checked the fan fuse and that isn't the blown either. please, anyone with any kind of advice would be very much appreciated. thanks

well first check your coolant? Now if your fan is not activating, check to see if you have ppwer going to the fan motor? Just cause it is new doesnt mean it wont be broken. Also you need to check the coolant temp sensors operation? The fan wont engage untill the engine is at proper operating temp. And yes check to see if the thermostat is stuck shut.

you gotta remember, since we have transverse engines, the fan is operated electrically. so its only gonna come on when the ecu tells it too (thats why it sometimes comes on when the engine is turned off). but you can still jump the fan switch just to check if it works, but the first thing ill check is the coolant level, and if its good, check the thermostat. remember, the golden rule in diagnosing vehicles is the acronym k.i.s.s. (keep it simple stupid)

i HAD the same problem...same front end collision...same yoyo like temperature reading...at first i would turn the heat and fan all the way up to ensure that the coolant was circulating and at first it somewhat did the trick but then it started happening again but the good news for me was my car was still under warranty...and i don't want to be a bearer of bad news but after the third time i took the car to the dealership they saw that there was something wrong with it (the first two times i took it in the problem never arose) and found that piece of the plastic that was covering the some drive chain on the side of the engine was fused to the manifold and they had a rep from honda to come take a look and basically said to just change the engine...luckily for me they had one in the local honda factory or waitaminit they might have given me a similar car instead..hmmm...
