bypass valve doesnt fit...

I jus got my bypass valve today for my intake, i have a 04 civic (ex), and i got a problem, the valve does NOT fit onto my pipe, my intake is 2 piece, and the lower pipe with which the filter is connected to is slightly larger then the upper pipe, and the valve i believe is one diameter both sides, so it doesnt fit, am i supposed to cut a piece out on the upper pipe n put my valve there? or am i just not trying to force the valve in hard enuf? i apppreciate any answers please!

well it should fit i would keep trying. i dunno if u can put it between the TB and the intake, i dont think so. i dont know cuz i have a short ram so i dont need a bypass. but theres gotta be a way.

yeh i kno man, u can clearly see that the 2 intake pipes are different in size, and the valve is one diameter both sides, and i tried SOOOOO hard god damn it to get it to pop on but it doesnt, maybe i should convert mine to short ram like urs, how do u find it to be comapred to cai?

i've seen the AEM dyno charts adn u get a bigger gain from the short ram, but i'd rathe rhave the CAI in the summer. i wuz thinking of getting some sort of an extension for the hot months and shorten it for the colder seasons but i dunno. i like it alot. u lose yur low end though, but u do with cai also. however u do get high end which i enjoy, and plus i think its louder then a CAI.
