FYI: About Wings West & ViS
Not sure if this went public, but 10 days ago.......West Wings officially closed operations. They were Chapter 11 for over a year and ViS bought out WW for approx $500K or so.....ViS decided to close the Mexican plant where WW was producing to open a plant states side, here in the US. ViS supposedly only shut down the productions of WW for 3 months to transfer all productions to the US.....What does this mean???
1.)ViS's prices will rise as a result of the acquisition & moving of production
2.) WW will probably be closed for longer than 3 months. I'd venture to say a year atleast....it is gonna take serious $$ to get a production plant set-up here in the US and running at full capacity.
3.)This just made the CF & body kit market a little more interesting in many ways......
Post away!

I'm thinking VIS will keep the patents from WW that they'd like to produce or improve. They will prolly then sell of any patents, equipment, materials, etc. including the plant itself.
VIS just gained big market share by killing WW off. I dont think this will increase the cost of body kits overall because there are so many knockoffs of VIS' items out there.

2) True they did gain big market share in the body kit and CF business. I feel your wrong on the cost factor however. The cost of the acquisition and establishment are going to cost $ to start in the states....So how else is ViS going to fund it? They don't even produce their own CF. They outsource it to China....LOL
Who care of knockoffs....they generally do not lower the price of the item. Look at all of the HKS, AEM, DC Sports, 5 Zigen, GReddy, Veilside....knock offs....do you see their pricing going down? No. Not at all. As a matter of fact, it drives the intergrity of the item up and also makes it wanted more by a medium segment of the market, which in turn keeps prices up and steady.

Did WW really make a lot of CF parts though? I know VIS has lots of CF hoods and trunks out, but so do alot of other companies that are still out there.

yeah I thought something was up the last time I was at VIS about 2 weeks ago and the guy I usually deal with was at WW. Hopefully I can get the same deals I always get
this may or may not effect 04-05 owners. no one knows if they were planning any kits for them but if they were it sucks. there's so little out and i'm not liking most of them either. any word if xenon is making an 04-05 kit dezod?
