Price of timing belt change?
Anyone have their timing belt changed yet? I know most here don't have the mileage on their cars yet. Mine is at 107,000+ and close to the 110,000 recommended change interval.
Honda wants $559 for a belt and water pump change. A local guy who specializes in Honda work says it will be around $450 but that also includes:
-the change of the accessory drive belts
-a valve adjustment
-new valve cover gasket
-coolant change.
If anyone has had the belt change done how much did it cost you?

Between $400-$600 is the normal rate for the timing belt change because of the labor involved in it. You have to remove the PS pump, alternator, Crankshaft pulley, Drive belts, etc. It is a long process.

If I were you, throw on a new crank pulley while you're at it. The rubber damper in em gets weak and shreds, which can cause excess vibration that could loosen the pulley bolt over time. I've heard this from an engine builder and even the service guy at the dealership agrees it's wise to do. Tensioner doesn't usually need replacing, but couldn't hurt.

Oh also I got new crank pulley and cam gear bolts that were suggested. So maybe spend a few more bucks on those. And I think you mentioned water pump already. Might need a bit of coolant in case you leak some...but you prolly already know this.
