RPM question

Mine is at 1500. is that normal? I never really paid attention to it before but I just bought one off ebay and wondering if the rpm is working properly.

I think that may be a little too high.. is this early in the morning when ur engine is cold?? you might have to re calibrate your cluster.. it might be alittle off

Bought what? A Tach? Mine is usually around 900 RPM's 1500 is definately too high... If you can feel its actually your engine and not your gauges you should definately get it check out.

^^^ yeah, what did you buy?
1500 when the car is at normal operating temps is bad and a waste of gas.

The idle is supposed to be 700 +- 50 rpm for USDM model civics.

My tach reads 2,000 rpm but that is because I run my car extremely rich. My car shoots gas out the exhaust pipe 18 feet.

thanks for all the response. I have a stock cluster. I messed up the calibration on it by playing with the needles. So, I bought a used stock cluster from ebay and was just making sure that it was working properly.
