i installed the k&n fipk II intake about a week ago. everything was fine until it got really cold the past few days. everytime i press the gas pedal and let go, there is a wierd noise. hard to describe but its like a squeaking sound. now this only happens in drive, not neutral and the engine sounds perfect when revving in N, the transmission seems perfect and its not the suspension. wtf can it be?

i was driving around earlier today in about 58 degree weather and the sound was still there. so its not the cold. help me out fellas.

i have that too. i think its normal. i asked someone else on this site, and he said that he has that too.

i also have a question, since we're on the subject of weird noises from the fipkII. today, when i let off the gas pedal, my fipkII made a "pshhh" sound, sort of like a BOV. thats never happened before, and i thought it was pretty cool . but, i was wondering why it made that sound?

oh lol, i feel alot better now. it was driving me crazy. im 100% sure its not the tranny, engine or suspension. id love to know what it is though. i would take it in to honda but i don't wanna take out my intake and system cause its a lease. thanks bud.

oh mine makes that sound too. its like a hissing sound. the fipk sucks in alot of cold air. after a few hours of hard driving, i touch the filter and its cold!

^ I doubt they'll be much help considering it's an aftermarket part.

My fipk II doesn't make any abnormal sounds except for the hissing, which is just air going through the filter. Maybe something is loose so your intake is rubbing or scraping something? Make sure all the bolts are still tight and see if everthing has enought clearence, such as the heat shield.

Edit: I drive a manual so...
