I know what you are saying, Alex, it is a pimp dog. But, please, PLEASE consider going to the pound or any rescue organization and getting a dog from them. They do sometimes have pure breds and you can get on waiting lists for a specific pure bred.

but you dont really get the dog you want. so whats the point?
im all for saving animals, but i doubt there's a snowball's chance in hell that he's gonna find a shiba inu, or a mix of it at that, at the pound.

I just got a Shih-tzu on Monday, only 7 weeks old. Her name is Ally and she's a light brownish color with some black on her face. My brother got her sister and she's all black and white, he named her Shea. They're both sweethearts and loves to bite. I will post pics tomorrow if I get time to.

I would never get a dog from the pound. Those dogs are there for a reason. They are either strays that have never grown up and know how to act around people, or they are dogs that people simply didn't want, with who knows what kinda problems. I'd rather get a dog from a breeder where I can see how the parents are natured and know that I am the one and only owner of that dog.

I have tried to keep my tongue bit, but, I can no longer keep it bit on this one. Sorry guys, but, I have no tolerance for ignorance relating to this issue. Okay, let me shed some much needed light. "Those dogs," are there for a reason, you are absolutely right on that matter. But, why are they there? They are there because of the irresponsible and ignorant people who have put them there. Let me remind you that we as humans are the ones who domesticated them in the first place. And therefore, it is our responsibility (all of us) to take care of all of them (good behaving, bad behaving, good health and bad health). Now, their health and behavior (good or bad) is also what we as a whole as human beings have done to them. Ignorant breeders (not all breeders are ignorant, just most) cause so many health and behavior problems with improperly breeding their dogs. Also, some people in general (not breeders, just so-called dog owners) are also the cause of poorly behaving and poor health dogs. You are of course going to have mentally defected dogs that behave badly, this is mostly due to breeding them improperly and other people raising them improperly or being cruel to them. It is very rarely due to the dog being born that way, it is almost always environmental and physical. The absolute bottom line is you will find that in most cases, "pound dogs," are better behaved and in better health than most dogs from most breeders and it is a real shame you will never get to know this. I see no validity in you being the so-called first owner so I will not address that. Also, seeing the parent(s) of the puppy you are about to buy from the breeder is only a remote chance of how your puppy will behave and how it's health might be. It is just a vague and general idea that may or may not resemble your puppy's health and temperment. This issue is one of my absolute passions and I speak that way about it. I also speak with authority for I have been involved with numerous animal rescue organizations from being on the board of directors, to actually rescuing and fostering them for over 14 years now. I have dealt with more breeders (good and bad) than I can count in all of my volunteer involement on this matter. I have fostered and owned many pure breds and, "pound dogs," due to all of my involvement with animal rescue. And, by far, pound dogs are better behaved and healthier than dogs that are from breeders. Again, it is a real shame that you will never know this. I despise all breeders for most are breeding them improperly which ends up hurting/killing countless animals and are only in it for the money. This disgusts me to no end. Why on earth would anyone buy from a breeder when there is a massive amount of rescued dogs that are healthy and good natured waiting for homes at pounds and rescue organizations? Why would you be a part of the problem rather than a solution to the problem? If you want a specific breed, get on waiting lists for a rescued one of the breed. I assure you, there is plenty of rescue organizations that will eventually turn up your specific breed. You might have a wait, so what, you will get what you want and help our problem and not contribute to our problem. Peace.

My last tinkle of the keys on the keyboard regarding joe6680's last comment. I have busted my *** (my personal choice, BUT, what we all should be doing for it is ALL of our problems) to try and make a dent in this problem for 14 years and I HATE it when I come across people with ignorant views on the issue. So, I have to dispell the ignorance. I will try and shut up now...lol...you guys know I never shut up!

joe6680-This is not a personal attack on you at all, so , please do not take it that way. This is an attack on ignorance on this issue.

Holy Shi* too many words, just looking at it gave me a headache. Sorry Jodie but I'll admit I have some form of ADD to avoid that thesis. So whatever cause you're supporting I'm just gonna have to agree on.

Dallis-LMAO! Take two Tylenol and call me in the morning, oh wait, I will already be at your house in the morning. LOL-You wish! Oh wait, I WISH! LOL Just playing! Thanks for the support by default. Btw-I am a licensed psychiatrist so I can prescribe you something for the headache if good ol' trusty Tylenol does not work and I can prescribe you something for the AADD. Then, you can actually read it and then support me for I will kick the ever-loving **** out of you if you don't. lol Actually, I like keeping you guys ignorant so I won't do any of that. So kidding, all of you are actually not at all ignorant. I just like that you will support me blindly if I go off on a tangent. End tangent. lol
