Should I sell her?
Hey guys, i have a dilema and I need some opinions. Currently I have my 2004 EX Civic. My brother was in an accident back in February and we are getting ready to go to court with Honda over the fact that his car crushed more than it should have, so I am thinking about getting rid of my Civic. also my payments and insurance are a little on the high side for me to afford with school and not being able to work as much. Should i sell my Civic and buy a cheaper new or newer used car? or should I keep it, possibly forego millions of dollars that my brother may in because i am still supporting honda after it almost killed my brother?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your brother is filing suit against Honda Motors Corp. claiming that the car sustained excessive damage in an accident.
Long shot case at best. Your brother will be lucky to get a dime.
Why does this concern you? Is your brother going to give you money if you sell your Honda?
You are upside down in your loan, so getting rid of it will cost you money. Plus how many new cars are cheaper than a Civic, yet have better crash ratings?

Suing Honda for excessive damage in an accident
.
Cars these days are meant to crumble like that to absorb the impact energy during a crash. If you want a car that doesn't do that buy one thats pre 80's when cars were made like tanks.

I understand what your saying about not wanting to support Honda by continueing to own your car.
I would agree that if you feel that strongly, you should sell, but you might want to look at the financial issues of selling what is basically, your new car, your financial lost (oppurtunity cost) will be great.

I have decided to keep her only because of the amount of money that would be lost in selling her.
here is the link to what my brothers car looks like:

We have significant evidence that the car should not have crushed so drastically in the event of the side impact accident, futhermore, several days after the accident honda released a newletter saying that the 2004 Civic LX sedans are failing the crash test.
