Accord V6 = pretty f'in fast

So this weekend my friend who i haven't seen in 2 years since he went to the Marines came into town and he just got a 99 Accord v6 - all stock except for the dual exhaust. He told me his thing was a BEAST haha, and I challenged him of course. it was pretty late and we didn't wanna go out to the cuts - so we took it to the nearest light we could find. Well rolling at like 10 we both punched it and he just SMASHED me. haha. then we caught the next light and i was like "f that, i'm gunna get him" so im ready, concentrated on that light to turn green - when it does I launch on his as$ quick! Off the line i probably got a good car, car and a half, lengh ahead of him. I thought i had him - then all of a sudden he starts catching up FAST and just zoooooms by me. that bastard! haha, but it was all good.

i didn't know the v6 accord was the fast.

They're just heavy... but yeah, they make fairly good power.

Redline04 is an unknown quantity at this point
01's are pretty quick but limited by the auto. I have yet to run one. In the 1/4 I might have a chance, but from a roll or the highway it's top end and v6 torque would own me.
Now the 04's with the 6spd are bad ***. A guy here in shreveport runs low 13's on a 125 shot and mid 14's NA with I/E. That's pretty damn good for a fairly heavy car in my opinion.

very few 6 speed accords were put out. its a shame because they're gonna be lighter than their acura siblings (with only slightly less power), perform well, and will hold value for sure

I want it too... The only thing though, is the styling, I still prefer a coupe or at least redesign the back end of the Accord sedan. I believe it's the most powerful production Accord.

the new 04 v6 6-sp is pimp. but the price tag on the high model is pretty iffy.

what engine do those newer accords carry anyways?

Yeah, I was so surprised with Honda on the new v6 accord. I never thought they would actually make normal car with decent hp.

I took my buddy's 01 four door V6 from a light... much like your run, I was ahead via the launch, but he caught up fairly quickly. I did, however, hold him off until about mid-end of third gear.
