7thGen Vs. 350Z my best race ever!!!
oh... my god!!! 
i just raced a 350Z just about 30mins. ago and here's what happened...
i just got off from work cruising on a not so back road and on the first stop light was this very messed up lookin black spray painted dodge neon, he's tryin to make a left, I was on the inner lane but I was bored so I thought I race him... so I changed lane next to him to make a left turn... but when the light turned green, and the bastard made a U turn, so I was like
... 
so I took a left and went on my business, and on the next stop light, I was at the outter lane this time, on the inner lane is a honda civic 6thGen looks like a 99, he's got nice wheels, nicely lowered, and it looks like it got a lot of mods... I was thinkin, when he punch it, he's gonna make a big mistake
... then all of a sudden, comes a 350Z as soon as he pulled up he revved his engine so hard that it makes his whole car shook like a friggin muscle car... me>>> 
after he revved I revved back 
, then the 6thGen civic revved as well... 6thGen and 7thGen engine sounded like little ***** cats "meow" against a friggin lions growl... 
so the light turned green...
I had a perfect launch, the perillis gripped so well and thanks to the ACT Clutch!, on 1st and 2nd, I was a car ahead!
then when I shifted on third, 350Z pulled up even, I was at about 5K RPM on 3rd and 350Z is pulling about a foot per second, I was about 6500K RPM I changed to 4th and I was just holding on to the Z, I was on 4th gear for about 4seconds and I didn't budge another foot... I don't think it was a full 1/4 mile, 
i don't know, I never been on a drag strip... but I'm 100% sure it was over a 1/8 mile... yes, he was ahead of me, but god damn! that was a race, worth racing for!!! only if I had my boost at 10PSI
after we slowed down on the next stop light, rolled down my window, and gave him a huge he was so pissed I can see him, changing lanes back and forth behind me waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha 
a grocery getter almost smoked a 35K car waaaaaaaaahahahahaha!

Rep Power: 304 THe only downside of the 350 Z is its a little chubby. If they could lighten it up, that would truly be nice. I hope Nissan makes a rear-wheel 4 cyclidner sports car again. Something light like the old 240sx.

Rep Power: 349 Nice race.. the Z's are slow1-3rd gear... 4th and 5th is where we are the fastests.. and yes the z is a big fat car.. 3200lbs
I got to race a 2k1 with the sf kit at 9lbs and dead even 1-2 gear and pulled a little in 3rd and then after that i just took off and that was when i was stock.. but those d17s with boost are quick..
Also only the track and convert z are 35k .. i picked mine up new for only 27k.
Ps... come race me before the turbo goes on soon

There is one thing about the Z that makes it hard to not love its fatness. The darn thing is so darn sexy. One thing I don't like about the s2000 is the back, I find it too small, the Z is nice and big. Its bigger than a civic! Even though its a roadster it looks better than an s2000 or boxster or bmw Zwhatever. Those cars look a little to much like miatas.
Z makes a wicked growl when you rev it. So deep. Z is not a slow car, its freak nasty fast.

Obviously I don't own a Z but I agree with what you said, atleast from the experience I had racing one...
From a 2nd gear roll, I got the jump and stayed ahead with confidence until the very end of my 3rd gear when the Z definitely started to pull.
Same thing happened from a stop, I got the jump and was ahead, after rowing through the first 3 gears, the Z was inchin and pulling even with me. In the middle of 4th gear, I think...Im not sure on this I was focused on what was infront of me......the Z was a front bumper ahead, all I know is that it was pretty damn even.
Don't worry, my car is a pig too......about 3100lbs
