Adjustable Springs
Adjustable Springs
I am taking my 2004 civic LX Coupe in tomorrow morning to get the strut springs changed out, my new springs are adjustable 0-4" drop. I am wondering if I can go as much as 2.5" drop with the stock strut cartridges, or will I need aftermarket cartridges to keep the car from bottoming out on the struts.
no I only got the springs, I guess the shop is going to pull my struts, then replace the springs, the springs have seats that you adjust with a spanner wrench, so you can lower the car, but I am wondering if going 2-2 1/2 " Is going to make the strut shafts bottom out.

Ok, I have no idea what you are talking about.. you are being too technical..
I have neuspeed race springs.. and I haven't blown a shock yet.. I've had them for almost 2 years.. just take it easy going over bumps and stuff and you shouldn't bottom out. I haven't yet..
btw.. neuspeed race drop = 2.5 in front 2.25 in rear

any non-oem stock springs on stock shocks will risk your chances of your struts blowing. so once you lowered that car, keep a look out for dips/bumps/potholes/etc to keep your struts in good shape. but eventually, they'll wear out and your ride is gonna be shitty. i would think about investing into aftermarket shocks to go with your spring/coilovers.
