alrighty, im hearing mid 17's to low 18's. anyone actually have a time slip? i know not many ppl take their autos to the track but id still like to see some if possible.
I ran my auto VP when it had 1000 miles on it and only managed an 18.2 with a 2.5 60ft time.
R/T: .352 (horrible, perfect light at my track is .000)
60': 2.653
330: 7.647
1/8: 11.763
MPH: 60.31
1000: 15.267
1/4: 18.263
MPH: 74.28
Car weighed in at 2712 with me in it. I ran full interior and full tank. Tomorrow I am going back to the track with my axle back exhaust, cold air setup, and hopefully only 1/4 tank of gas.
As for racing a slow automatic being a waste, it is just the opposite when it comes to bracket racing. I plan on being slow and consistent tomorrow so I can come home with first. Just need to work on my reaction time.

auto might be slower compared to stick, but some of the fastest cars in the world are AUTO. You can't shift a stick faster than a auto, so an auto (depending on power) will have a faster est. time compare to a stick that will have a faster 1/4mile time.

thnx for the info 04civicvp. whats the civic vp though? lol sry havent really looked into any of the newer models recently. and this is wierd, i raced my friends delta 88 before. its supposed to run a 16.5 quarter and yet i was pretty much dead even with him going up to around 60mph then he started pulling on me a bit. and ive beaten like 94 style model intrepids before, theyre supposed to run a 17.5 so wtf? i have an auto LX. and yes these ppl were actually racing me, and my friends delta is in great condition so its not like the engine was crapping out.

Those are an altogether different class of automatic transmissions than we've got. I mean, if you look at the SMGs in M3s, or the new Audi trannys that have come out w. 2 separate clutch setups, they shift insanely fast. I imagine the only thing faster would be a CVT, they don't even have to really 'shift' at all.

now im really itching to get to a track lol. i just took my car out to find out my 0-60 time. granted i dont have any sofisticated equipment but i was just gonna use the clock on my cd player. so i go out, and catch a few stop lights where im the first car and the lights red. so i launch a few times and every single time i was clearly under 10 seconds 0-60. at one light i revved up to about 2200rpm and stood there for like 5 seconds waiting for hte light to turn green watching the clock. right when the time on the song hit 22 seconds i saw the light turn green outa the corner of my eye and i launched. right when i hit 60 i checked the clock and it was at 31 seconds and then hit 32 kinda quick. it wasnt too chilly out today but i still dont see how my 0-60 time can be so different from 04civicvp's of 11.763, granted hes going 60.31mph but does it take our cars 2 seconds to go from 60-60.31? lol. so does anyone know if route 66 in joliet is still open? i checked their site but i couldnt find any dates or anything.

can u post ur slip? or just type up all the times/speeds. oh and does the VP have the vtec or non-vtec engine? and would there be a significant weight difference between the VP and the LX?

I noticed a little bit of sound difference with the intake, and it definitely seems to help the engine breath better. The VP is a little bit lighter than the LX because it has no power options. The engine is the single cam non-vtec.

Um dont you know that autos are better for drag racing? They are more consistent. Ture its not as fun, but you know its not you're driving, and you just have to build up your motor. Im planing on a turbo kit w/built up auto tranny for the spring. We'll see how it does

I ran 17.372 @ 80.9 mph
2001 Civic Ex Auto
full interior
17 wheels 215/45/17 tires @ 40 psi.(I should have deflated)
I have a catback and a cat-delete.
I plan to switch back to stock 15's and deflate the tires a bit.
