Question Little boost problem..

Alrite, I have a slight problem on my hands.

Scenario:

- Car will boost fine....once I hit about 5k or so it just drops and won't keep boosting. It goes well until I hit 5, then it shudders and drops down.

Im thinking maybe its something with the fuel...or maybe the cold air?

Also, I was thinking maybe my tranny is slipping? But the tranny is fine if I dont romp on it...

Another thing, I'm thinking maybe a ground or circuit is messed up because my gauge indiglos blink on and off a lot....and I've noticed that they'll flciker off as soon as I let off the gas.

I know thats a lot of ****, but can anyone make any sense to it? Thanks

sounds like you're misfiring ... check your plugs.

that happened to mine ... then later, I opened them up and found out the plastic housing on TWO of the spark plugs had cracked in half and was moving up and down along the um ... shaft? ... or: real bad news.

I've already killed all my pistons, ringlands, and 2 spark plugs. Luckily I'm not burning oil, have smoke coming out of exhaust, or have an excessive amount of oil dripping from my breather filter.

I'll pull the plugs tomorrow morning. Also, I have a check engine and maint. required light on. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

check your MAP sensor, are you running a missing link? Seems like people who've had problems like yours its due to the map sensor sending a screwy signal...ie: the reason for your CEL, does your car bog at all when you floor it? if so then it may be the fuel, but i doubt its the fuel if you can make it up to 5K then it dies...also check your wastegate, if its external you may need to adjust your spring, or find out when its fully open. hope this helps

yeah, check the plugs ... I had a cel the whole time because of some incompetant installers installed my turbo, so my cel's been on ever since. If you're not already, I recommend using some denso ik22's ;P

map sensor, as mentioned above, can also give you a similar problem .. but since you've had your turbo for a while, I HIGHLY doubt that that is the case

1---spark plugs over heating, IK20 or IK22 is cool, I'm using IK22s
2---do you have a Missing Link?
3---are you using 93+ and or above octane?
4---you are running super lean, get it dyno tuned...
5---get it scanned at pepboys to find out what's up with the CEL, or buy a scanner you'll need it! your ecu is on a safe mode with that CEL on so it's pumping more gas!
