oil pressure sending unit on tsi extreme kit
okay, so i was attempting to install my extreme kit from tsi this weekend. i had just taken out the oil filter, and removed the sending unit when i threaded the t-adapter from the kit into the sending units place. on the last turn of tightening the thing down, the adapter broke off. the threads were still in the threads of the block. using an easy-out the threads were retreaved but now after getting a replacement t-adapter from store i found out that it will not even begin to thread onto the hole. seems the sending units threads got stripped when removing the threads that broke off. i tried a re-threader but to no avail. what should i do? must i take the engine out and to a machinist? mind you that the threads that i am referring to are in the block. all you turboed guys must know what i am reffering to, prob na guys do too, (and gals
)
please advise as my car is still collecting dust and i must walk everywhere.
thanks!!!

The hole on the back of the block is a BSPT tapped hole. You cannot use a standard NPT fitting in it. I have 3 of these fittings in stock, they are a BSPT to AN4, BSPT to 1/8NPT male, and BSPT to 1/8 NPT female.

forgive me, im not sure exactly what those descriptions mean.
are you saying that the tsi adapter is a special thread or something? could i re-thread the hole the same thread that the new adapter that i got is?

To tap the block to a 1/8 NPT hole to plug a pipe you bought at a store, you need a 1/8 NPT tap. Cover it in grease, tap the block. The grease will collect the shavings.
For an explanation, 1/8 BSPT is a smaller pipe than 1/8 NPT. BSPT is British Standard Pipe Thread (i.e. a European size). NPT is National Pipe Thread (i.e. American size).
It is not really a good idea to have a big adapter on the block as it can break off, as you have seen. A better way would be to do this.
Use a 1/8 BSPT tap and clean the threads on the block. Screw in a 1/8 BSPT to -4 AN adapter (the end on stainless flexible hose). Use a short hose to a tee. Then run all the lines from there.

i went with the t25 kit with the idea of eventually going to a diff manifold and turbo. so it was really about instant gratification. although, i must say that i am most displeased with the purchase.
i will get the directions from the shop and scan them soon, if a couple of days is too late im sorry, lots to do at work and shop is far away.

/\/\dang, i'm sorry dude. Hopefully my purchase won't be so displeasing. I have the owner of a local tuner shop thats gonna personally help me put my kit on whenever or whichever i get.

i really think that you should go custom or wait for dezod. the quality on all of these parts are horrible. i had to personally grind the manifold so that it would fit.
thanks flowerpowerlove..but i called the place up and had them fax me them..what did fit right for you to grind the manifold? cause my friend wants to install my kit and i have the t28bb turbo.
