The 25.4mm front bar is significantly stiffer. Why are looking for a stiffer front roll bar?

I ran the 15.9mm front bar for a few months with the 19mm rear....

hmm ive been wanting to do the same to my 2004...

i kidna hate how "rollly" the front is while takin a turn kinda fast, makes me feel uneasy and squishy (haha...?). i guess swapping out the 16mm front for the 25.4mm and then upgrading to a really thick rear sway with new endlinks, wouldnt that be not too bad?

i have the 19mm RSX rear and it helps alot so i want to make the front stiffer

I recently added Prothane rear sway bar bushings and its really stiff now

i just ordered the bushings for the front bar that 26mm

i hope to have a very stiff front end

I don't know if the 2004 have a 25.4 front. The 2002 has it but afterwards they made them smaller.

The 2004 has a 15.9 mm sway bar.

If you currently have 19 in the rear so your rear is thicker than your front. Are you having a hard time controlling the car? If your car is oversteering too soon than a thicker front is needed to increase understeer.

Its hard to say what is best.

Nindoo more or less has the Idea.

ctv, what do plan on doing with the car? General Street use? Autocross? Open track? Dragracing???

Just be aware that if you get a stronger front anti-roll bar, you will have Less body roll at the cost of Increased understeer.

I cans stand how the car a 2004 coupe is so sloppy on cornering

i got a RSX rear 19mm bar to replce the puny 12mm

it made a nice difference, so now i am upgrading
the front to 26mm from 16mm

i use my car for general use and like the suspension Stiff.

But my Question is, the 2004 16mm bar on my car now, will the 26mm from the 2001 coupe be the same stiffness since its Hollow???????

Slopy as in how?

The 25.4mm bar will be substantually stiffer then the 15.9mm bar. I should konw, I swaped my 25.4mm bar in favor of the 15.9mm bar.

My current Anti-roll bar set up is this.
03 OEM 15.9mm front
Hotchkis 25.4mm 2 point Adjustible rear. (I may be going to the Hotchkis 27mm rear bar if I cant get the rotation I want with alignment settings at this point)

Like I said, a larger front bar will help reduce body roll at the cost of increased understeer. so you may find your self shoping for a larger rear bar soon.

well the 01 coupes had a 25.4mm front bar... but I have to ask... what makes you think you need a larger front bar? Have you driven the car with the larger rear bar on it?? why spend $$ on a part that you may not need or want in the long run?

I hope to install my new 25mm front 02 coupe front bar this weekend with new e/s bushings.

I noticed it Hollow, so it will save some weight as well

yea the 01 front sway is 25.4mm heres a link: http://automobiles.honda.com/certifi...ModelYear=2001

and the rear sway bar off a DC5R (22mm) link: http://www.aj-racing.com/Products/JD...5/DSCN2903.jpg

so would a 2001 front (25.4mm) and a DC5 rear (22mm) be a good setup?

would a big solid front bar be good for drag racing or would a smaller front bar be better? (what about rears?)

A good setup for what? Autocross? Open track? Street? Need info! as all three will have different setups.

aznboysrfr, for better straight line stability a larger front bar would be usefull.

I read something either you or boilermaker posted a while back ... something about stiffer rear springs (or was it shocks) that would absorb a lot of the shock in a hard launch? ... someone refresh me ...

you can adjust your dampers(shocks) to give you better launches, by controlling the speed in which weight is transfered off the drive wheels.
