Spoon Thermoswitch
My question is would it fit on our cars. I know they make it for the RSX and new SI but they also make it for the 94-97 DEL SOL VTEC, 94-01 Integra, 99-00 Si. Shouldnt it work on our engines

Rep Power: 0 The Spoon Sports Thermoswitch is an excellent addition to your vehicle cooling system. This switch activates the radiator fan at a lower temperature than factory. thus increasing the cooling efficiency of your car. Match this with the Spoon radiator cap and then thermoswitch for the ultimate in thermo-control.

Rep Power: 0 Seriously guys, I wouldnt do it. I know some guys out there that have used the mugen thermoswitch on their cars and then they have a problem. See, that switch was designed for an actual race car situations. Where you are CONSTANTLY running the **** out of the motor. I that type of situation, its really good to have a low temp thermoswitch. But for drag and basic daily driving, it would completely suck. Basically what would happen is your car would not come up to proper engine temperatures and never come out of open loop mode. Open loop mode on the ecu is where it just uses computer presets to run your car and the ecu doesnt look at any of your sensors for data. Thus your power, emissions, and gas mileage are going to be pretty crappy.
Unless you are building a circuit/road race car, I highly recommend not getting one....

it's not suppose to be that bad from what i heard...but it's a really sh!tty upgrade if you live where it's cold...
like stated from above, ur car kicks into the cooling mode or whatever, to compensate for the heat loss, i've heard u can use mercedez radiator fluid to keep it at a constant temperature of 80c....dunno if it's true, i'm about to try it out, will let u guys know

Car will always be in open loop heat up mode which will kill gas mileage...
Its for race cars since you need max cooling during track runs and never need closed loop...
