So I was leaving a haunted house and I had my girl call her sister because one of her friends wanted to race me with a 6th gen vic. But she didn;t talk to him but she said that this kid with a stock focus wanted to race me so I say ok. When I get there I hear his subs so I ask what subs he has and he says two twelves (and its a hatchback focus) So in my head Im like easy win. So we go to the place to race. When we start he's probley at my door then I just pull and pull by the end of it I probley beat him by a car at least. Afterward he says once he gets some stuff done to his he will race me again (and get beat )

That doesn't seem right to me (that they are the same weight) but we didn't go for that long to get up to 120. I have exhaust, intake, lowered, shifter apadtor. He said that I would beat him from the beginning but he still wanted to race me (He said he loves to race)

I agree, but will clarify. The ZX3's (3-door hatches) have the 2.0 Zetec with 130hp/135tq or the PZEV Mazda motor (I4 Mazda 6 and 3) with about ~145hp, so, given that it's the Zetec, it should be close (which it was), but the PZEV motor should be a little quicker than your average 7th gen.

the svt is 160hp? thats not much increase for how much they charge you for one.
I really would love to import a focus RS and run around town killing wrx's and such

Well, the SVT has 170hp, Upgraded stereo, HID's, Upgraded interior w/ Recaro's (I think), 17's, Body Kit, Suspension, colors not available on lesser Foci (Screaming Yellow, Competition Orange, Sonic Blue). So, there's a lot of stuff that the other cars don't have, but for straight line performance, the PZEV is a great engine and is only marginally slower. The SVT is an all-around improvement over the other cars, though. I do believe that the cancelled the SVT-F, among other things, because it couldn't easily outrun the PZEV Foci and people didn't see the point in buying one. Personally, I like SVT-F's, they are great overall cars, but it just couldn't differentiate itself from the other Foci well enough to warrant continued production as part of the SVT line.

I agree though 170hp isnt enough differnce between a regular focus..moreless be an svt.
The saleen focus is pretty weak as well

im assuming that its not just the motor making horsepower u know? focus tranny setup could be in the crapper .. Honda is known for quality IMO and compared to focus (in most cases cost less or the same). I think what you pay for is what you get in some circumstances..

Well, yeah, I'm a Ford guy, but I try to be well-rounded anyway. The reason I know a lot about Foci is partially because my brother owns one, a Zetec ZX3. While it's certainly not the best car ever, its really a pretty good value. Decent power compared to its competition, crisp handling, 17" SVT Rims stock, good stereo, all for $9500 brand new. What else can you even get for that much? A Kia Rio or Chevy (Daewoo) Aveo?

Actuallyyyyyyyyyy.......Focus hatch 2.0L Zetec puts out 130hp, but a lot more torque than our cars.

When I got my Vic, 03 EX 5 speed coupe, I raced my bro's 02 Focus ZX3. He beat me right of the line, got about a car length ahead, and stayed there. I stayed right with him, only about 12 feet back! After my intake and TB spacer, we raced again. Again he beat me off the line, but I slightly, and I mean slightly pulled on him to gain back that 12 feet. By the time we were at 85-90, at was at his quarter panel, but we had to slow down for the turn.

Moral of the story: Low end Torque=stoplight races won
High end hp=Higway races won
AEM V2 and TB spacer=little gain.
