will i miss my thump? well, right now i have an alpine swr-1241 sub powered by an alipne mrp-m350 amp (pushing about 200rms).
my questions is that i was thinking about selling my sub and amp and buying the alpine type-r components for up front and alpine type-r speakers in the rear all powered by a amp. so, will i miss my thump or what?

Seriously tho, what causes thump? An Alpine Type R is a lot more than 200rms so it's not like you won't be getting enough power. Can't you just turn the bass boost on the amp up? That's how I get "thump." Of course, I think that sounds like crap so I leave the bass boost at zero, but still.

Rep Power: 786 I took my amp out just yesterday and I miss my thump already. I put DVD's on for the ride to school to try and take my mind off it but I know it's still not there :'(

Rep Power: 310 well, i think i WILL miss my bass now that i think about it. i just wanted to know because my stock speakers are starting to sound like crap. should i just buy another pair of the same amp and sub so its louder and can't hear the the music? lol

Rep Power: 310 oh yeah, and does it matter what kind of amp i have? or can i get this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...46602&tc=photo i'm thinking i can just get that one because it doesn't matter really what amp i have it matters about the subs more. or am i wrong?
