one amp
one amp
so another question:
i recently just bought a DEHP-8MP, 10' subs and an amp.
im looking to get some fronts and rears, but i was wondering if i could get away with running them off of the HU?
like is it absolutely necessary to get a four channel amp for good sound? how big is the difference? thanks

You can get away without an amp for the rear speakers, but the front will need some more power then your deck. If you got a strong sub, it will drown out your speakers. Then all you will hear is bass. One more 2 channel amp would made a big difference in the sound.

You do that and you can spend twice as much on a good pair of fronts and more on a good 2 channel amp and end up with way better sound
Unless the HU is preamp only, there is nothing wrong with running the rears off the deck. I am a big fan of it because it gives the rears just enough power to fill but doesn't waste expensive power from a nice amp. Even if I had enough amplification for my rears, I'd rather just BiAmp my fronts instead.
im not using the factory deck, im using the pioneer deck. the speakers are good speakers, i am just wondering if i can get away with running them off the HU for now, and get a 4 channel amp sometime in the future

You can if you want to. I've always ran my fronts and rears off my HU and it's never been that bad, although I don't have a very good reference so it's hard to say what it will sound like. Either way though, probably 99% of the decks out there use their internal amplifiers so it can't be too bad, can it?

Well, considering you're getting "good speakers" as you described them, you probably won't notice the difference between them off the deck, them off an amp, or the stockers off of the deck. Personally, I wouldn't buy new speakers to run off of the deck. They're going to be significantly underpowered for the most part (You're only gonna get around 16 max rms off the deck). The stocks will sound just as good off the deck as an aftermarket speaker. You can get them where they sound decent off of the deck (stock speakers) and you'll be able to hear your highs well enough over the sub for now. If I were recommending, I'd say save the money you'd spend getting replacements for stock (especially if you're getting front and rear fill) roll it up in a sock and put it in a drawer, stick it in a coffee can and bury it in the yard, etc. Save it until you have enough to get an amp and a decent component set or good component set and an amp. Once you get that money saved up, replace the fronts with a good set of components and amp them. Personally, I would take the rear fill out completely, but I'm an SQ guy too, so I don't care to hear overpowering rear fill drowning out the stock located fronts. I'd also recommend getting a kick panel, having one built, whatever, to better your imaging, but this is absoloutely unnecessary for what I think you're looking for.
