so i wanna run 2 amps...
im a little confused and hopefully some of you audio junkies can help me out. heres my future set-up
2 (two) audiobahn mono-amps a8000t
2 (two) Kicker L7 15" subs (2ohm models)
2 (two) "2 fared" capacitors (one to each amp/sub)
now if i wanted to hook up 2 amps, would that mean i would need 2 power wires? meaning, theirs gonna be 2 terminals and power wires connected to my battery located under the hood and all the way to the trunk?
im trying to run one amp for one sub.
any info would be helpful,
thanks

No you would need 1 large power wire from your battery to your trunk, going into a distro block that would have 2 equal size or smaller wires coming out of it, although you would be better to use a larger power wire for the main run due to the amount of current that will be carried through the wire.
Also, why 2 amps? You are better off saving yourself some money by just using one.
If you are just looking for "a lot of bass", try thinking of how much you actually need. 1600 watts and 2 L7 15's is a hell of a lot of power, more than you would really ever use. Even 1000 watts like I run in my car is a good amount of power, and with 2 10's it will blur your vision without a problem.
Not trying to second guess you or change your mind, but just suggesting that you consider what goal you actually hope to achieve with your system before you go out and spend the money. Worry about the details sooner than later

the reason why i decided to go with the 2 amp route is because i already have one of those audiobahn amps. someone is giving me a sweet deal for the 2 kickers for $350 + installing my amp/subs/cap. so i thought purchasing another same amp would be my best choice as for money wise. as for so much bass, i ran 800rms watts in my car before and it didn't seem enough for me. i wanted something that would vibrate outside the car, be heard the next block down and other disturbing sorts of things =)
btw, thanks for the info

Well if the price is right go for it.
Things other than the equipment to consider are the parts needed for installation. The wire you will need will need to be at least 1/0 wire which can be quite pricy. I would DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY upgrade your battery in this case to a high output one such as an Exide Orbital Extreme Cycle Duty 34XCD. If you have the money, also spring for a good quality high output alternator such as one from Iraggi. I would recommend the use of high quality RCA cables and a line driver to give your amps the proper signal and keep the gain down. Spring for the best connectors that you can afford (copper works very well) and make sure the connections are crimped AND soldered.
1600w is by no means a small amount of power and you gotta make sure everything is up to par.
Also make sure to sign up for a membership to IASCA or dB Drag Racing and start competing in the SPL circuit once it's all installed

to run two amps on two subs you will need a high quality mulit meter and a test disc. put in the disc and start playing around 65hz.....now monitor the AC output of each amp and adjust the gain untill they both match...now turn it up and do the same thing. if you dont gain match the phasing will be off and it will sound like butt.

welp sorry you guys for bringing this thread back to life...but just recently i got a free amp from a friend. and right now my current amp is a PG Xenon 400.1 and it runs alright with my 2 audiobanh 12s(thanks jttegx for the great deal) and well im only putting 200 watt rms thorugh both subs. and the miracle of this amp that i got from a friend is that its the same one i have currently. so instead of me buying a 800 rms class d amp i was wondering would i have to go through all these things that jttegx is gonna have to do to run just 800watt rms though my car? cuz wat im thinking is hooking up one 400watt rms amp to one sub each, and then getting a optima yellow top or red top batt (just in case i get dimming) and soon to dynamat my car. but i have a feeling there is more to it than just hooking up these 2 subs to the batt and such.
because also i forgot to mention that i have a kicker 200.4 amp hooked up to my components and i am gonna get a new clarion deck (new=clarion dxz845mc old/current=clarion dxz545mp) so that i can have more preouts. so wat else would i need to take into consideration when installing 2 sub amps? thanks for helping out a semi-noob to ICE!
and boy im glad i searched this before posting a new thread...thanks for your help in advance

you can run both amps to each sub by using a distrobution block. a disto block ( http://www.cardomain.com/shoptype/Distribution+Blocks ) splits your power wire into 2 seperate wires so it can feed both amps using one main power wire source. think of it as a "T"
since the 2 amps that you plan to run with the 2 subs are the same, you can easily match the specs *level, bass boost, LPF, etc*. so you basically need a distro. block to have each amp power each sub. 1 for 1.
and batteries dont prevent dimming. a cap would help but i dont believe in caps anymore after lots of researching. with the money spent for a new battery, IMO i would invest it into a higher output alternator than the super small 70amp OEM one in our civics.

so...getting a higher output alternator would be alot better than getting a new batt to replace the stock one??....man so many questions welll jttegx i think i might just talk to you online about this one....thanks for the help.
