Hey I had a idea, and I would never do it to my car...just wanted to know what you guys thought.

My idea was to get rid of all the carpet in the car and redo the floor with custom fitted diamond plate sheet metal stuff. You would have to make all the bends and curves fit perfect but I think it would look pretty good.

Has anybody heard of doing this? Im not sure where I got the idea. i think I made it up, but I could have seen it somewhere, forgot 'bout it, then claimed it as my own. I dunno, now that I think about it, I think i've seen it somewhere.

What do you guys think?

i have diamond plate... it only looks good if you have silver trim and all that stuff... mine looked fugly so i ended up doing this it looks a little better

i think it would look alright, if painted black. And not just floormats, like you said, the whole floor, strip the car out, seats, everything, then lay down the custom metal

yah..I like those floormats...but i think doing the whole floor would look WAY better...i didn't think i was going to like it at all..but now that I see those floor mats...i may just do it to the whole car..hrmmm

Just remember to save your carpet if you rip it out, so you dont have to pay somebody to fix it in the future when you get tired of it. I was thinking blue would be a good interior. I wish I didnt. Im gonna pay somebody to leather my dash, seats, everything to match. Just remember, as long as you have to car, it will be there, and think about resell value!

I dunno about removing all of the carpet. Carpet helps deaden the road noise. If you remove all of it you may get adverse affects. I'd say if you wanted to do floor mats in diamond plate it might look cool as well as be easy to clean.

black is better than chrome so don't forget to paint them and do a good job!
