Yes. I am getting desperate. I dont want to have to get a loan. I need the kit gone. I found a Skyline and have decided to put my civic back to stock and sell all the parts off. I have buyers for smaller stuff. I just need the head, cam, IM, turbo gone.

I dont know. I would have to see a list of mods on both. The RWD should get a better dig off the line.

I remember his name being Peter. If memory serves anything, he had AEM CAI/Comptech Race header/Exhaust (no idea which)/Hondata #4 at the time of the race. The S2K had I/H/E for the mod list at the beginning of the video.

I know you're despaerate for money. But please don't forget the predicament you and I still have with DH. If you have the money to buy the skyline I'm assuming you have what is needed to finish off the thing me and you had... Please don't just give up on this cuz i lost a lot of money in this whole thing.

Sorry for HJ'ing the thread guys...

Well lets look at power to weight ratios

The lightest 7thgen you can get (2004 Vp coupe) with a K20A2 (200hp) has a 12.25 lb/hp power to weight ratio

A stock 2004 S2000 has an 11.7

BTW lower # = faster

think about the #'s.

Stock RSX-S can run a 14.9 with decent driver.

Stock S2K can run 13.9 with decent driver.

Swapped Civic weighs about 350 lbs less then the type S. If you follow the generalized outcome of -100 lbs = -.1 off the 1/4 mile time you're lookin at a 14.5 at best. thats about 1/2 a second too slow

hope that helps this is entirely based on driver of course

DC 5 TYPE R .. 220 horse .. recalculate the numbers.. track times should be a bit faster due to the LSD that should come in the swap..

ok I'll give ya .3 for the extra power and ls deven though it's not likely to get that in the real world. that puts ya at 14.2 still slower then a stock s2k

s2k is a very nice car IMO. I wanted one til I sat inside one. didnt like the feel.

bolton dc5r would own a boosted d17 at 8-10 psi easily

NO you are not adding the torque that a turbo puts out. The DC5R does not have alot of torque. Take the head on a all motor and PnP and add a less restrictive exhaust you loose even more torque. yes if you strip out the whole car and run a crazy high compression on race gas then yes you might.

I am adding torque.

refer to this thread.

if you were to make a comparison, a turbo d17 @ 8-10 psi would not hold up to a turbo rsx-s at 8 psi.

Are you comparing an all motor DC5R to a turbo D17?

Or are you trying to compare a 1.7l to a 2.0l. Yes the bigger motor at the same boost makes more torque.

You need to be clear about your posts. We are not stupid. Yes a K20 boosted will be at 300whp and a D17 boosted at 250whp. But look at the K20 just gaining 100whp 50% increase over stock hp and the D17 making an extra 150whp 100% increase.

Pound for pound the D17 is putting out more power for the displacement.

yes, I am comparing a bolton dc5r to an 8 psi base d17. I didn't say anyone was stupid

I'm not talking about a turbo dc5. I was making a comparison between the n/a dc5r's performance vs. the turbo dc5s ... and we all know that the turbo dc5s would beat a turbo d17, both at 8 psi ...

you also have to realize that by 250whp, you are at 11-12 psi, not 8 psi ... so let's say ~11.5 psi ... you also have a pnp head w/ cam

they are not at 200 whp stock. and I doubt any d17 on only 8 lbs is at 250 whp with other upgrades sure. if you're gonna make this kind of comparison you gotta compare them fairly.

also a properly driven DC5 R could beat a turbo d17 on 8 psi. the non type r guys have done as low as 13.6 full interior. not gonna happen with 8lbs on the d17. at least not that ive ever heard of.

what is futurersxswap have? cause he's at the same level as me running around 13.7 last I remember. I'm pretty sure he's got more then a base kit on 8 lbs.
