federal help
first let me explain, i'm not really an avid street racer since i just got my civic and its a automatic heh. i think i'll aim more for it looking nice, unless i can find a cheap k20 or turbo. at any rate, i was on my way to work this morning and this orange civic (looked like my old 93) came behind me, it seemed like it was stock manual. The guy doesn't seem like he wants to race, and neither do i, until he comes up beside me and cuts into my lane before slamming on his breaks to avoid hitting a semi and hitting a large ditch on the side of the road from construction (all of this at a red light no less). so i let it go, and he turns onto the same road i do, still i don't want to race. he speeds up all crazy getting stuck behind cars until i roll up beside him in the left lane and he and his little buddy flip me off. no honda love i guess. so i decide that since the exhaust looks stock, and the engine has that same light-hearted whir my old civic had, that he's probably stock. So I goto accelerate past him so i can meet him at the next light, well he's in the right lane and i'm a little bit behind him going up to the light, and he's trying to beat me to light for some reason, weaving in and out of cars. finally we get at the light, and we're off, of course he gets maybe a 1/2 car length ahead of me (i'd say because he was driving a stick?) and we start getting closer to traffic a head of us, i end up gaining on him in third, and i'm in the right lane, a postal truck is a head of me in my lane, so this guy thinks he'll cut me off, which i also thought but the truck goes into his lane and he gets pretty close to the bumper, i've slowed down by now for saftey purposes and the he tries to cut into my lane, the postal truck then cuts into the right lane just as he does it and holds him at bay while i get to press on the pedal and pass him, i roll up to the postal worker at the next light, give him a wave and a thanks
. as for the orange civic, it just flipped me off again and then turned off onto another road. i didn't consider this a win, but i was happy to see the 'community involvement' in putting that guy in his place.
