Door Handle Painting

Just thought I'd share my on going project for the moment. I bought a set of black door handles from Derek and am working on painting them to match my 'vic. Here are some pictures thus far.

Pictures aren't doing them any justice and the last one with the clear I botched up, I should have wet sanded the paint before I cleared, so it's got unwanted texture in it. Like I said, just thought I'd share and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I know a lot of you guys use spray cans and here you see i'm using a air brush. Turns out 100% better than what aerosol cans can do.

The airbrush it self was like $20, I already had the compressor, my grandfather left it to me. It's from like 1968 - 1972. You don't need a expensive air brush to spray this paint, only if you want to do controlled fancy designs. But I also have a badger 200 just in case I decide to get wild with designs and what not. lol. And from what I've tried, if you can buy the plasti-kote paint, that's the best kind to use, it's already thin enough to spray from the jar. just make sure you keep the airbrush clean and you can just wipe the inside jar dry and switch paint inbetween each coat.
