yes i beat the game. lemme tell you something. this game if you have what it takes to play "compatible" on your pc, PLAY THIS GAME AT NIGHT. turn off your room lights, close the door, raise the volume to your speakers.
i know so many websites that recommend you to get video cards like 9800pro, x800pro/XT, nvidia 6800+. i was first kinda in doubt of getting this game for the fact that i might not play this game at its fullest advantage.
i own a ATI 9600PRO, and i found some surprising results.
you have the choice to play the game by choosing one of the four types of visual quality. unfortunately my card cannot handle the very graphical detail of this game(tried and horrifically failed), i decided to go with the lowest using 640x480 resolution. surprisingly, i kid you not. you'd be kinda surprised that even their lowest visual quality is still damn looking good. this is something you gotta see it to believe it. i found almost no lag unless i was getting swarmed by at least minimum of 15 monsters attacking you simultaneously. and that barely happens unless you enter the last stage.
animation and shadow effects are still there with the lowest quality.
so far, in comparison with the original DOOM, i hope you know that doom3 is not a sequel but the retelling story of THAT original DOOM. i've played all the doom series before and by majority of the storylines given it is rather written then visually told or even animated.
DOOM3 is that remix of the original doom.
so i'll have to say this game is damn well made.
i don't want to spoil too much about the game so i'll stop here.
if you are willing to pick it up from me, i'll give it to you for 45 flat.
