12volt ignition wire on fuse block?
12volt ignition wire on fuse block?
Hey, all. I've installed a Crime Guard 745i4 on my 04 civic, and all is well, except that I made the starter interrupt relay connection at the ignition harness. Apparently, this can cause some dash lights to malfunction, as the relay draws a small amount of amperage. So, I called a guy I know, and he said there should be a 12volt ignition wire coming from the back of the fuse block and that I should make the connection there. Problem is, I can't find it.... I keep looking for a hefty gauge wire that reads 12volts when the engine is cranking, but can't seem to find it...Anybody know what I'm talking about?

sir, no matter where you take the ignition line from, its still goes to the same place.
every single ignition wire in the car is all wired into the same wire right at the
ignition harness,
its like making a 1 inch hole in a garden hose, doesnt matter where you make the hole, by the spigot, or at the end, if the hole is the same size, the same amount of water is gonna come out of the hole
and no, dash lights will not malfunction, i dont know who decided to tell you that one.

Actually, Crutchfield had the same note about the dash light, which was actually the check engine light. They said, as my buddy said, who's been installing the Omega line of alarms for 17 years, that the 01-up civics have on their diagrams a note from Omega stating that this malfunction may occur if the starter interrupt relay connections were made before the fuse junction block.
i wired my sis 02 LX b4 the fuse (i think), i cutted the starter wire right by the key cylinder and no engine light. and its was valet 563t, just like 791xv but not 2way.
i have heard that b4 about some hondas.

You may, may and I say may be right about the dash lights or check engine lights. But why the hell would you ever want to wire up an inferior normally closed starter kill to a vehicle that has a built-in immobilizer straight out of the factory. It's a complete waste of time and money, both for you and your buddies Omega customers.
And what the Omega notes may say is that IF you use the actual starter line instead of a 'true' ignition to trip the relay then it will cause the engine light to come on. This has been true since Viper used to pre-wire all their relays like that about the mid 90's.
