The dude tried to take everything but the cops caught him. Anyway, now im left with my passenger side window to replace and my cd HU. I think he damaged the pins in the HU when he yanked it out.
So im in the process of selecting a new HU (most likely the insurance will cover it - need to talk to them). Any suggestions?
Ive been a Pioneer fan so am lookin at either the 7600MP or the 8600MP. Id appreciate any feedback on any of these units. Also if you have other brands (Kenwood, Alpine etc) that are equally as good (has to be mp3/wma) please suggest as well.

The Clarion DXZ745MP is a wonderful deck... but you might not find it asthetically pleasing if you're used to Pioneer units.

I just upgraded from a Premier P750MP to an Alpine 9835 and I'm amazed at how much better the Alpine sounds. I primarily picked up the Alpine for the pending Ipod support, but there is a noticiable improvement in sound quality particularly with MP3's. I haven't listened to enough regular CD's yet to make a valid comparison. I don't know if it is Alpine's media expander or what, but I wasn't expecting as much improvement as I got.

yup.. can you believe it. what are the odds that you comment on some elses break in and two days later your own **** is gone!!!!!!! i have a $1000 deductible so most likely i won't see a dime from the ins. co.

Thats crazy...is that just not a safe area or did somebody get your address from your post to find your car? Scary thought. Did you lose a lot of stuff? Sucks having such a high deductible, the only way to get money out of insurance is if your car gets totally screwed.

it happened in ny. i only live in philly during the summer, for a internship. they stolen my jl 300/4 amp (brand new) my box (two 10's) and my other kenwood amp. they didn't take my face though. they were smart. it prob took they 30 sec. broke my driver side window popped the truck and bam gone.

My advise: Get an alarm, then sue the guy for the damage/replacement. That way your premiums don't go up.
