I just took my car by the shop this morning and the said I need 4 new struts and upper strut mounts! This is really going to be expensive! Has anyone else had this done? So after the shop told me that I called Honda and scheduled an appointment for them to examine the struts to see if it is needed to replace all four. I also read the topic in suspension performance on how Honda would replace it free. I told them I knew my struts were covered for 100'000 miles and they said they were only covered for 3year/35'000 mile. That sucks! Has anyone else had this Fu(k up?
Also I head of people saying they lowered their car and their shocks blew... I dont have shocks so how can someone with the same model car be ridin on blown shocks?

this is from my car, i have teins. the whole front assembly comes out and is a direct swap with stock..... but with coilovers you can lower it as much as you want. here is a pic

I went w/ my dad to get both of the cars' oils changed. They did a 60K mile checkup on the black car and told my dad that we had a leaking strut. He replaced it and payed like $7xx for it all... He made feel me really guilty about it. I say, you can stick w/ Honda's parts or go all out w/ aftermarket suspension. I would have done the latter if I had money, not because I don't trust Honda, rather because I just want that lil bit of sportiness....

Tell him if you replace ur stock struts with honda parts, they are just gonna blow again. I replaced my front shocks on my 01 4 times under warranty. Finally I got sick of it and dropped some b&gs in. After I had an alignment, everything has been smooth plus my ride looks way better. I guess spend about 1200 for coilovers now in one shot, or spend 700 a few times replacing the stockers cause they will blow again.
who makes aftermarket for 2001 civic coupes
the only company i have been able to find that does aftermarket for my civic is koni... and i don't want to spend $1200 bucks on struts. Any other companies deal with my car or am i stuck... and if another company does make aftermarket, is it as much of a pain in the but to change like the konis are?
