Just wondering how many turbo civic owners actually have fine tuned your setup. Ever since we got on this board, alot of people have been calling us to chat and just talk about performance modifications. I am concerned that alot are upgrading to turbo kits, bolt ons etc. but not fine tuning the setups to safe and efficient levels. I know many arent boosting alot, but still, having a proper air/fuel level, etc does make a difference.
I have suggested to a few to get some type of Air/Fuel meter. A good one is the Innovate LM-1
if you have a laptop, you can hook it up to see your air/fuel readings and shows other readings as well.

so actually if a few people lived in the same area they could go half or maybe three ways of one of them and split the price for 100 a piece.
The only time you would use it is to tune.
Kinda like a G tech pro or a timing gun.
just have to figure out who's house to keep it at.

yup thats true speedracer32. you can share it to get readings from other cars.
I guess its more of a peace of mind thing also to be able to know if your car is running rich or lean. Thats the downside of all our modified engines. is that we often don't know what is really going on in there, until its too late.

cant u just use a dyno to get ur AF right, im using the emanage, and its finely tuned, i also have access to a snap on five gas analyzer, but dont need to use it at the time
yes you can use and pay for a dyno to get it tuned right. but as far as monitoring it when ever you want, at different seasons and conditions. you can't go to the Dyno all the time.
one of our friends who uses the Innovate LM-1 at every pass he does swears by the LM-1 A/F Meter. Im not sure if you are all familiar with Bisi Ezerioah with his 10. sec All Motor SOHC CRX. it has helped him fine tune his Carburator setup at the different races/tracks. Seasons and weather changes, so does the A/F mixture. so the LM-1 is a great tool to monitor these changes when you need to.
and also, not everyone has the E-manage and access to a dyno all the time.

The good thing about the innovate is that it is self calibrating - it calibrates itself every time you turn it on....this gives you accurate readings to base past runs off of - almost all others out there aren't.....
ok I keep getting more and more Emails regarding the LM-1s
Here's the advantages/uses of the LM-1:
1. The purpose of the LM-1 is to monitor the air/fuel ratio on your engine. Factors that can change any cars air/fuel are more boost on a turbo setup, weather, nitrous/fuel mixture, elevation, fuel (lack of and too much), and just your basic malfunction of injectors, other regular parts on the engine.
2. The LM-1 is really a great tool to have all the time since it can help you tune you your VAFC, cam settings, Hondata settings, boost adjustments, weather changes. You will be able to monitor the air/fuel mixture at anytime.
Many of you do make these changes often and its difficult to do blindly and not have a air/fuel meter like the LM-1.
3. The Lm-1 doesnt just show you the Air/Fuel readings in realtime. It also lets you record data of your runs at the road course, drag strip, or just even tuning on your local back streets. Then you can look at the data in detail on your laptop or when you get back home on your computer. You can check where your shift points were and how fast you did it. and if you get the RPM converter option, you can wire up the LM-1 to the tach signal to be able to read all these options.
I really wish we had something like this back in the 90s that was this affordable. Sure would have saved a few blown motors.
What is included in the LM-1 kit?
1. LM-1 box
2. Oxygen Sensor
3. O2 Sensor Bung with cap
4. Power cable to your cigarette lighter
5. Software
6. Serial PC cable
7. 02 Sensor cable
