Hey all. So I pop open my hood yesterday to take out my K&N filter and clean it, and I feel my intake piping. First of all, its burning fvckin hot! More over, the cold air extension is loose, extremely loose. I feel the looseness further up the pipe and find my bypass valve moving quite akwardly. I peel back the foam a bit to find that my bypass valve has cracked.
My friend had this happen to him, I assumed due to the engine rocking backwards. Anyways, his shattered and a piece of plastic got stuck in the throttle body, causing the car to over rev. My bypass valve broke into halves.
Fvckin AEM quality
. Also the heat absorbtion of the piping is really making me consider designing another intake.
Anyone else have this issue?

I had an AEM SRI and the pipe got very hot. Useless imo. Just try and sell yours and get the K&N fipk intake. It's plastic so tube doesn't get hot, and there's even a heat shield around the filter.

yeah those seem to break easily. My friend has one on his intake and the mesh parts on his got sucked into his throttle body. The bypass valves don't seem to be the best quality.
