I recieved a letter from Honda saying that my car is in demand and that they're planning to purchase some cars for this week and that they want my car because it has been serviced by them. My sister has a 2000 and was serviced by them too but didn't recieve the letter so im guessing its legit. I also got 100 off my next service or parts purchase. Has anyone recieved a letter like this? anybody know any information regarding this. one question off topic. Do 17x7 and 17x7.5 rims have the same tire size? thanks

it says, it is not necessary that you buy or lease a vehicle, we just want your car! It's automatic so i would trade it in for a newer version except it would be stick shift and i guess i would have to pay some cash.
yeah, haha, thats funky. find out wassup and go to the dealer. just to make sure its all good. hmm....**** it...do it. and if your lucky, they sell VW...so get a GTI! 1.8t to be exact.

I guess i will just go tomorrow and find out. I bought the car 1 month after it hit the dealer lots and crashed it 4 months later, it was only some front bumper damage, nothing to the engine. Ive been trying to figure out if my car has a salvaged title. Does anyone know to what extent does a car have to get damaged in order to recieve a salvaged title? how do i find out?

My friend had a integra type-r, usdm, and somewhere along the lines, the dealership tried to buy it off him. he ended up selling it later for twice what they were offering
Do it, but I think its not real, too shady...Civics in high demand? Hah, thats why they are everywhere, not a hard car to come by..
I'd go buy my Scion I test drove earlier today if I could get what my car was actually worth.

There already a thread on this about them "seeming" to give you a good deal by buying your car but then they jack up the sale price and give you a good deal on a payment plan on a more expensive car or something. So in the end they profit on selling your car at a jacked price and giving you a payment plan that gives them even more money. I think in the end it would make the newer more expensive car cost MORE than if you bought it without trading in.
Anyway, at the end of the thread, the conclusion I came to was: do not sell your car to Honda on their terms/request. You will get fawked in the end.
If it sounds shady then it is.

Thats true, i kept going in for oil changes and maintenance till i found out they get comission, ****** make people get maintenance every 3 months. Thats BS! Anyways, i drive an automatic and would like stick shift, if i pay like around 2 g's i guess it will be worth it for a brand new car. Im still trying to figure out how i find out if my car is salvaged

I went in a while ago, they said they wanted to inspect my car and make an offer but i told them i walked ( its just really dirty). He quickly tried to get to me to lease. Im gonna clean it up and take it in so they can check it out and get an estimate. Im just curious. I will let you guys know how it turns out and what offer they make me. If any of you have any questions you would like me to ask out of your own personal curiosity let me know so i can ask. I will get back with results soon. Thanks
NO your car would not have a salvage title unless it was totaled!
Effective May 1, 1991, if your insurance company made a total loss settlement for your vehicle, you were required to apply for a Salvage title.
A salvage vehicle is any title bearing vehicle that has been declared a total loss from Fire, Vandalism, Collision, Theft or Flood.

I know, i always wanted in Acura. The thing is I like my car, the only thing i would change is instead of automatic I would of gotten stick shift and black because thats the one i thought everyone was going to buy since it looks the best, i ended up buying silver and then everyone around here has it. im broke and wont trade it in unless its around 2 g's which i doubt but i am curious
I received this letters as well. It did say that the Honda Civic is in high demand, honda certified used vehicles that is. The dates to stop by the dealer and have it appraised are May, 28th-31st. I am going to check it out and see what is up with this.
Who knows, I may walk away with a new S2000 if the price is right!

Well, I Just Got Back And Spent An Hour Being Convinced To Trade It In. They Even Brought In The Manager In To Talk To Me. The Salesman Drove It Around The Block, Filled Out Some Forms And Then Tried To Pursuade Me. They Said 7950 For Trade In For 2004 Civic Lx Brand New. Mine Is Lx, 2001 With 40,000 Miles And Didn't Bother Cleaning Since Im Pretty Sure They Would Low Ball Anyways. Oh Yea, Mine Is Automatic And The One I Would Be Getting Is Stick. I Know I Am Not Going To Trade It In, But If This Sounds Good To You Check It Out Because The Main Reason And Sole Purpose For Them Doing This Is Because They Need Cars For Memorial Day And Have Better Chances Of Makin Money On Used Cars Then New Ones.
