any one with a full gauge pod pillar in their car?

I just finished installing my Volt and Air/fuel gauges, and i have a full pillar gauge pod that replaces the original pillar. But the thing about this is that there are no clips that come with the new pilar, so is there a good way of keeping it in place other than just using black electrical tape like mine has right now?

After just finishing this pillar, I can give some good news and bad news.

The good news is that it looks like a really good fit in the car and the gauges are easy to see.

The bad news is that you destroy or use up the original pillar. So if you think you might want to take the car back to stock, you should buy another pillar for later use. They are not too expensive, so it is not like you have to replace the dash.

I painted mine with vinyl paint to match the car. The paint was really close, but I painted the passenger side to match, just so no one would tell the difference. I did not use the tabs that come with the pillar, I glued the gauge pod to the pillar with industrial silicone glue. That way the ABS pod does not flex with the heat and bow out, since the original pillar is reinforced to reduce flex. Now the gauge pod is pretty straight with the windshield

I also cut out behind the gauge pillar on the stock pillar to be able to access the bulbs and gauges, should a bulb blow out. The next time I order some parts from Egauges, I am going to get LED bulbs to reduce the change out time.

I bought VDO Vision gauges because they have red pointers and are backlit. They match the dash great at night and the only difference in the day is that the background is black versus silver. If you need any gauges, try Egauges.com. They are awesome. They ship the same day your order is placed and have good prices. They are nice to work with, thier site has tons of information and they have tons of Autometer, VDO, and Isspro gauges. They have pics so you see what you are getting and have all the senders as well.

For gauges I ran an oil pressure gauge and voltmeter. I wanted to see the drain on my car due to the system and I wanted to monitor my cars blood supply. For the sender I ran a BSPT to JIC adapter on the block and ran a stainless steel line with a 45 degree end on one end. You need that to clear the intake manifold. Then I mounted the sender on the firewall with a p-clamp. That way the weight of the sender is not resting on the block and it is not prone to vibration (as vibration and heat kill the senders). I used a VDO sender that also has a warning light output, so I did not need the stock oil light switch anymore. So I have both the warning light and the gauge.

If anyone is thinking of adding a pressure gauge I can help. Just let me know. Now that it is finished, I will try to write a DIY, but it is raining now, so that will have to wait. Best of all, the add ons look stock, so you have to look for the sender underneath the hood.
