It's a team, and a store as well!

Me... along with a few of the other guys on this forum are part of this team.

If you guys need any performance parts... ask me, smokedcivic, or SIRB16 if you guys need anything for your cars.

and it's... Slipstream R. No space between the slip and the stream.

take it easy!

btw, what cars did u see? what colour? and where did u see them? hehehe!

No, Slipstream isn't a CASC affiliated car club because its a company.

On the other hand at the same time, SRT, the team isn't a CASC affiliated car club.

Sorry Narc, Slipstream does not carry Hayame. Was there something specific you wanted from Hayame?

sorry....made the correction....does not carry....

I also do not recommend you to use coilover sleeves...especially with kits that use extremely short springs......

With most coilover sleeves ppl tend to slam their cars which is a BIG NO NO when it comes to safety. When you use kits with the short springs, just by setting the car on them (thus putting load on the springs), the car is probably lower than stock height because of the shorter springs companrd to stock springs. Moreover, most people will want to drop even lower, thus compressing the spring more to reduce the height, but at the same time you sacrifice shock piston travel. When you reduce shock piston travel, you are basically eliminating damping which what the shock absorber does and because of the shorter travel, the suspension bottoms out and hits the bumpstop. OUCH! This is totally unsafe and defeats the purpose of "tuning" your car to perform better.

In addition with these setups, because of the improper spring rates based on these types of application, when the car is lowered, the srpings are compressed thus storing a lot of potential energy. Now imagine this potential energy being released while your car is in motion especially going over some dips and bumps in the road. The potential energy is translated into kenetic engery sending the car upwards and coming back down on a shortened shock piston travel, no damping, and then again compresses the spring for more potential energy and ......you get the picture right? This setup begins to oscilate uncontrolably for a bit. Imagine this at 20kph, not so bad right? what about 60kph? somewhat WOW!? now imagine it when you are going 100kph on the 401.

<Holds up an egg.> THIS IS YOUR BRAIN.
(Drops egg into hot frying pan.> THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON DRUGS.

We all modify our cars to enhance performance, right? RIGHT?

Basically, my last words are: Coilover sleeve applications are ideal for SHOW ONLY and not for DAILY DRIVING.

If you want height adjustability, save your money for TEIN, JIC, etc.....If you can't wait or won't pay for those coilovers, then just get a high quality spring with high quality shocks (TEIN Basic Damper, H&R w/ KONI yellow, etc...).

That's my 2cents. All I want is for you to drive safe. The last thing we need is another Civic in the news in some stupid *** accident.

Thanks brother, sounds like you know more than just a little about spring/shock set ups. Allow me to pick you brain for a sec...it may turn out to be profitable to Slipstream...

I currently have Eibach springs installed in my 2001 coupe and am still running on stock shocks. I absolutely hate the way it bounces all over the place. What id like to know is what shock can I get (from slipstream...dont wanna get off topic) that will not require me to destroy stuff as I may eventually sell my car and reinstall all the OEM stock suspension.

One of the reasons you may be bouncing is because the stock shocks aren't valved accordingly to the Eibach spring. Stock shocks were meant for stock springs and were designed only to be working together for mass market ride characteristics. The best solution in my opinion is when you change your springs, you should also change the shocks....it may cost more initially, but will save you overall...

Take out the stock shocks and leave them alone for back up, i.e. when you want to sell the car as you had mentioned.

If you want to inquire about pricing, don't hesitate to contact me at (416) 293-0733 (Gary). If you happen to swing by Kennedy Commons tomorrow night, I should be there too - if you want to talk in more depth.
