I think our cars have it. When pressing the gas down, the ac turns off after passing 3k rpms.

Our cars do have a AC shut off... it just doesn't turn off the little light indicating that it's on.

Yep. It's the ECU doing this to give a little more power for passing, AND to save fuel. It also turns off the alternator for the same reason when the load on the electrical system is low.

Is it the reason why my AC turns off when I drive over 70mph and over 3k rpm???
**** me off when I am driving on freeway, the AC gets hot after a few mins over 75m/h.

I hope we don't have an A/C shut off. That'd be stupid. If I want it on, I'd rather it didn't turn off at random.

You are correct. The A/C doesnt turn off by itself.

I said ealier that I was going to try it but it doesnt turn off itself. Then I just realized that I drove to SF from LA. Travelling at 85mph to and from LA, the A/C stayed on.

Uhh... lol. Cuz you drive an economic ULEV Civic... it's not supposed to be for performance. Although people here has proved me how fast one can be with just $700. Stop being lazy and just hit the a/c off!

my thoughts exactly

first problem is that your comparing an economy car to a mustang.

think about the different types of people who own and drive these cars. do you think some 70 year old grandmother wants her a/c to turn off if she were to floor it? not like that'd ever happen, but hopefully you get my point.

yup. Thats why I chose the civic over Porsche, because the A/C shuts off on high speed

do you think some 70 year old grandmother wants her a/c to turn off if she were to floor it?
