new car warranty voided by going from 15" to 16" rims/tires?
Just bought a new 2004 Civic LX and wanted to know if anybody knew if I would be voiding my warranty if I replaced the factory 195/60/15 rims/tires with something in a 16" rim and tire. The car is my everyday vehicle and I drive it about 50 miles a day so I don't want to sacrifice mpg....I just want to give it some "style". Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I know you are new, but please, please use the search function and read around. This info has been covered a bunch of times.
They cannot void your warrenty unless the part caused the problem, but each dealer can react different.

Besides, Honda sells accessory wheels that (for the LX anyway) are plus sized. they have no problem installing them if you give them money...
so, no... no problems. if they do give ya a problem take it to another honda dealer

Sorry about not searching deeper through the threads for help on this topic earlier. Thanks to all of the members for your info and patience.
I am hoping to find some inexpensive 16" rims/tires that will do well in the rain. I'll save the factory steel rims and tires for winter driving.

anything lighweight would be good. Maybe some Rotas. look at www.wheelspecs.com for different brands and such. Also check the thread above that talks about wheel vendors. Make sure you get some good tires. Search around this forum a little for some more expertice.

put 18's on there if you want. some stealerships will bitch and others will not. if you are worried about anything, just put ur stockies back on before you go in for some warrentte work...
I was at the parts counter at the Honda dealer the other day and noticed a poster showing Honda rims you can buy. They listed 17" rims and the service manager and parts manager said there would be no problem in putting on 17" rims and tires in place of my factory 15" setup. They said it wouldn't void any new car warranties.
