ok heres the story... i brought my friend's OEM lip kit from him and sent it off to get it painted to my car color (white). the guy that painted my stuff is a personal friend that works at a shop and i know he knows what he's doing. so when i get the lip back i put on the front lip and noticed that the lip kit was at least 2 shades of white brighter than the rest of my car. i know for a fact that the paint the guy used was the origional color cuz he took off the color code from my door and even showed me the paint can.
i take good care of my car and i wax it pretty often. the last time i got my car detailed was about one and a half years ago. oh yeah, its an '02. the guy suggested that it was sun damage but i find it hard to believe because i live in IL not somewhere like Cali where the sun is a lot worse. i know that the paint that comes on our cars isnt the best, but does anyone know why or how this happened or if its happened to you? thanks.

Paint fades over time. The dude who painted you lip just used the paint from the Honda code on the door..... they didnt blend it to match your car perfectly. Really good body shops will blend the paint to match perfectly and not just use the code.
Paint fades no matter what.... cant avoid it no matter how much you wax.

Yup, the shop would have to color match. Otherwise the sun will fade the paint. I had my old grill lip painted with the color code, and at certain angles it would not match exactly. It was close, but not perfect. But if yours is really noticable, you're gonna end up paying alot more at a better shop to match it.
