Arrow $2000 bucks to spend?

whats up guys, this is my first post, and i am the newbie. well i got about 2gs to spend on my g/f and my 03 ex.. i was thinking for the basics like I/H/E and some coilovers. any suggestions on what would have the best gains? i have been researching in the reviews but need some help. the kamakazi header seems the best along with the k&n cold air...with custom 2.25 exhaust with Hi flow cat.... and aem pulleys? wondering if that would be about right..i have a hook up thats why i can see getting all that for about that much...so i was wondering if you guys could help me out..thanks guys.!!!

All that stuff u mentioned sounds good but don't get the AEM pulleys. Those do nothing but brings problems to your car. If you want pulleys then get unorthadox pulleys. They are very nice!

And I dont think pulleys will do much on 7th gen civics. They may give u same amount of power gains as a cold air intake would give u.

One more thing....you should get skunk2 mega power catback exhaust. goto skunk2.com and they will show you a dyno on a 03 civic.

I/H/E won't get you very good gains. 15-18whp total if you're lucky. It's better to either go for all looks or save for turbo.

Put it all into the suspension. Thats the only place you'll get anything out of this car. Buy new tires and put the rest into shocks, springs and bars.

Use the 2G for a downpayment and trade for an RSX-S.

I have excellent advice save that 2g's take and sale your EX civic to Car Max after they cut the check you should have about 2g's left over after you finish paying Honda then take that 4g's and purchase a better car. No offense but Civics are slow it really doesnt matter what mods you add in the long run there slow turbo or no turbo it doesnt really matter get a faster car dont waste your time with mods that really wont get you anywhere but back in the repair shop. Just remember that Turbo you add to your Civic isnt covered under warranty so if it go BOOM BOOM you will be paying alot more then the price of a faster car in the long run. Hmmmmm suggestions i would purchase a Acura TL or a WRX at least you know your getting your monies worth

Some ppl just can't do that it's each persons personal preference in their own car. If ppl wanted go fast goodies just go buy a used WS6, LS6,LS1 it's all personal preference and even though he could trade his car in for a wrx or tl he'll probably (assumption) wanna modify that too so theyre goes the warranty on that too.

i think he meant 15-18hp at the crank, definately not at the wheels, um if you want i/h/e you can go to modacar.com and get a power package and get a good price on it, or you can check different sites and look for deals, i know wholehyper.com has tanabe super racing medalion cat backs for only $399 which is a good price and a very nice exhaust, anyone who has one will tell you how great it is, or if you Port and Polish the head that'll add like 20-30whp and when you do any mods like i/h/e along with the pnp it'll add more power than if you had the i/h/e alone cuz everything you do to the car compliments eachother, so if you want power and just wanna spend $2k do i/h/e and pnp or you can do suspension but you probalby want some more power b4 suspension but hey its ur choice

^turbo civics are incredibly fast cars! what are you comparing them too? they will smoke an Acura RSX Type S and a WRX, hell I think I heard a story of one guy running with an S2k!
its better to modify a cheap car and make it go fast than to **** up an expensive car trying to make it go faster!
just my .02 cents
ohh ya WRX are ugly as hell personal opinion. STi is hot just because of its power.
I wanted a stock car that went fast i buy myself an evo or RSX type S

aight so u got 2k.........grab some nice springs, get the exhaust above for 400 (thats a good price), keep stock intake (get drop in filter) or get the K&n fibk (sp?) that one has proven gains, headers (heard they dont do anything so save the money or get DC.)

that shoudl cover all and if u are a good shooper u can get all taht around appx 1k off ebay and other sites.....including the for sale section here.

What i recomend....if manula REVO short Shifter.......i love mine and cant stand driving the car without it! worth the 90-100 bucks

camber kit if drop is real low, some stereo, and some projector head lights.

if you search u can get all above for about 2k...utilize this site, and the search function.......works wonders!

Ohh and finally.............WELCOME!!!

i say go for handling man. Even if you spent all 2grand on your car, it still won't make your car very fast. Unless you get some nitrous, but the simple bolt ons won't make you much faster.

I say get some Teins SS or B&G coil overs, a Progess sway bar or RSX sway bar, and a solid front strut bar like Neuspeed. That's about 1300-1400 bucks of stuff if you self-install. The rest can go to your girlfriend or a set of wheels for the car with some nice sticky rubber. You won't be driving fast straight, but I bet you will be going much faster while turning. That's how I think of my civic anyhow.

If you have a civic ex or lx or dx or whatever, I would just go for all out show...Unless you are willing to do some crazy engine swaping...I would just spend my money on making it look nice...and of course sound good.

But that is just me.

that was a little confusing "type s..... wrx, sold them for living, dont like...rsx..." do you mean you're gettin a type s and you sold your wrx or do you think they make a wrx type s or somethin lol i guess its just worded a little weird but i think i know what ur talkin about
