UPDATE: Ground Control Coilovers... RSX Rear Springs Upgrade

Updated... Scroll down...

Original Post:
---------------------------

Well, I just ordered some 6 inch 525lb springs from Ground Control today. The springs that came with my GC's just weren't cutting it anymore. With one passenger back there I was always bottoming out even with my Koni Yellows adjusted on their stiffest settings.

It seems the springs that come in the GC coilover kit for the 2001 Civic are only 5 inches long and 425lb spring rate... so I ordered some that are 1 inch longer and 100lb's stiffer...

Just wondering if any other GC owners out there have had this same problem as me, bottoming out all the time... and also wondering if any members on here have also bought stiffer springs? Hows the ride? Helped a lot?

i did.. i remember i was only around like 2" and i would bottom out on every little crack with 2 other people in the car... the springs are just waaay too soft. I would have gone with something stiffer in the rear tho. well actually i would have tossed those and gotten something else like hayame or d2

for 1 spring its $59

what comes with the GC kits is
(length of spring in inches::spring rate in pounds)
5::425

they offer for $59 each
5.5::475 (just came out)
6::450
6::500
6::525

they all are the same price but i decided to get the stiffest one which is in the GC kits for RSX's, the 6::525... after tax and shipping it came out to $133.56...

i'll be getting them tuesday... then i'll install them and post up a small review...

just finished installing them... i love the stiffness, i had to soften my koni yellows a bit though because it was a bit TOO stiff (they were adjusted all the way firm)... so i did 1/2 a turn back from full dampening...

i don't have to worry about having passengers back there because i doubt i will bottom out with the extra inch of spring travel... and the extra 100lb in spring rate should compensate for when i decide to get a sub for my system...

overall, i give the RSX GC springs an A+
