Have question about swapping out exhaust?

I have a custom catback from the header back. I have a high flow cat that is welded to the downpipe and the the rest of the exhaust piping. My question is I want to run a real catback exhaust and if I get the downpipe that connects to the cat converter and get a megan high flow cat, then would I be able to buy a catback system and bolt it all up? I ask this because I know I cant buy a catback now because I wouldnt be able to bolt it to the cat converter.

because it is welded. If I got a new cat back, it would have to be welded or something, I am trying to avoid that.

Cut it off behind the cat, weld a flange on, bolt the exhaust on. Its not that hard.
