Hayame coilover questions?? PLEASE HELP
I have a RSX and I installed my Hayame coilovers yesterday and I have a few questions. My friend that help me put them on has a 7th gen civic with stock shocks and GC coilovers and he thinks that you adjust the height the same way with my Hayame full coilovers. So we got them on and he adjusted them by lowering the 1st and 2nd lock nut and I have NO pre load at all. Basically the spring was loose and free to move up and down. I knew this wasnt right because I have read so much about preload setting and all that. Although this did lower the car, but when i drove it around the block the ride was REALLY bumpy. So please explain how much preload I should set for the best ride quality. And having preload set on them, rather than the way we adjusted them will make them ride better and not so bumpy correct??? PLEASE HELP ME, THIS IS BUGGING ME.

Please search. Vnlilman posted this awhile ago. tell your friend he doesn't know what he is talking about. Set the preload to wherever you feel comfortable. The drivers side should have a little more preload then the passenger side. IF you want an accurate more in depth measurement, get the car cornerbalanced.
You adjust the height by undoing the bottom lock nut and screwing the whole shock up and down.

It just sucks that you have to "preload" those dam things to get a good ride. Doesnt sound like a good product to me. In the car automotive world, you get what you pay for.
