Everybody,
I have read , searched, read the debates on intakes....
I feel like sending my Fipk II back without even opening the box when I get it!
I read intakes are gimmicks, only for noise, looks, 1-2 hp gain, better off keeping stock or dropping in a K&n lifetime filter, don't do anything for our civics...so I am frustrated....I will just return the damn intake!

you read "INTAKES" are gimmicks but what you have is what alot of people on here recommend and i have heard nothing but good things so far performance wise. I'm pretty sure someone on here will post something about it from there expeirence on here.
Did you read reviews on the Fipk II or on intakes in general?

Well, that's the best intake and you'll probably feel a bit of difference. It's an improvement over stock at least, and the small things add up. PM Ironfist and he'll tell you how good it is.

Hey man, I basically read on intakes in general, the constant debate
about dynos, V2 , aem, injen, and the result in gain, I only care about
performance , I don't give a damn about sound or looks!!!!!
thanks for responding.

dude, FIPKII is one of the best....like everybody said..
well, it has pro and cons...but it's still the best one..
im getting FIPKII if i wanna get an air intake..
well, ur getting ur money back anyway...just buy it again when ur ready.
WTF u mean with 1 or 2 hp?? that's what u get when u drop the K&N air filter....
u can get up to 5 to 10% with the FIPKII...
u should boost ur vics more...not only fipkII...that is kinda worthless...
u can get...up to 4% with the air filter...therefore, 1 to 3 hp with our slow vics....
quote:
"Our replacement air filters are designed to provide up to a 4% increase in horsepower and torque. The amount of performance gain varies from vehicle to vehicle based on the overall factory air intake design. The greater the restriction created by the stock paper element, the greater the potential performance gain when you switch to a K&N."

whats up with people buying stuff before they read up on it?
or buy it.. then read more on it, and decide they made a bad choice?
depending on the amount u spend for the FIPK, it might be worth it.
I like mine for 150. its a bit on the pricy side, but I wouldn't have bought it used at all.
and if u wanted performance, why'd u buy a civic? there's other cars in the price range thats a bit quicker.

Put it on, drive for a year. Then put the stock box back in and see what a difference it makes. Then see if you're still cursing it. I bet you not too many people have switched back to actually see if it helps. When you find the car dying at 4500 RPM with the stock box, come back and complain your intake did nothing.

If you want to sell it, i'll buy it from you. I need a new intake. I'm serious, hit me up.
I have the drop in air filter by k&n. A nice 1 hp gain. I'mn really not worried. I payed $30 for it. A lot better than 150-200 bucks for one or 2 more hp. I'll just drive around with that until my turbo or engine swap.

yeah just try it. even if u decide to sell it.. u'll lose what? 50-70 bucks? u can still sell it for 150 I bet.
so try it out for awhile and see if u like it.
I had mine on and off, and I can tell the difference, the high end definitely opens up compared to stock.

i dont think that an intake is worth it since i bought my injen intake. you dont really notice any diffrence at all. i have saved on some gas money but still i want power.
if your looking for power in your car just the intake is not worth the money

No, it's not going to be earth shattering, but at least you'll get that warm fuzzy feeling inside that you blew money on your car, so it must run better than it did before. If you live above 5K RPM, you'll appreciate the intake. If not, it was probably a waste for you. I liked mine but opted to convert back to stock for a quiter ride on the highway. It made a difference, but I spend more time stuck in traffic than with the needle pinned to the redline.
I have a cheap CAI form ebay that I am running as a SRI and I love it. I'm sure that your K&N will be sweet. Give it a shot at least, besides they sound cool when you turn the car off

yeah, try it out. I got mine for christmas and can feel a difference. no, it's not huge but if I wanted huge difference I'd be spending more money. and if you're familiar with how air flows, our cars have one of the worst setups for breath-ability.

the pm , ironfist, said he liked his, it is quiet below 4000 rpms like stock
it kicks in at 3500 / 4000 rpms , you don't lose any low torque,
it gives you 5 hp gains......a little gain, the only problem is $200 + dollars,
but it is the best intake bar none!
