Clunks In Tranny Searched

when i pull out of the driveway in the morning i change from park to drive AND IT MAKES A HUGE CLUNKING SOUND I THINK ITS BECAUSE OF THE HILL. my question is why does this happen only on hills and does it injure my tranny? thanks and btw already searched.

phatcyclist is an unknown quantity at this point
the holding pin in the tranny gets stress on it (holding your car on the hill of course).
The BEST solution for this problem, is to put the parking brake on FIRST (make sure the brake is holding the car by completely letting your foot off the brake pedal and the car shouldnt move) , let the car sit for a second, then put the car into park. That way, you're only ever putting stress on the pin if your parking brake goes out.


Ive done this procedure in every car ive owned, because my friend broke his pin, and it cost alot of money to fix it.

thanks phatcyclist i had a instinct it was something of that nature , but i thought it may have been something bigger than a pin thanks for the advice ill definately apply it nexct time i exit my driveway
